Podcast Assistant for Urban Design & Placemaking Podcast (Talking Place) Overview We’re looking for a highly organised, culturally aware Podcast Assistant to support the production and growth of Talking Place - a podcast exploring placemaking, urban design, and the future of our cities. This is not a generic podcast role. We’re building a thoughtful, design-led media platform that speaks to architects, developers, city-makers, and cultural thinkers. You’ll play a key role in making the content sharper, more consistent, and more impactful. Key Responsibilities 1. Production Support - Coordinate podcast recording schedules and guest logistics - Prepare episode briefs, guest research, and interview prompts - Manage recording workflows (Riverside, or in person recordings) 2. Post-Production Coordination - Liaise with editors to ensure timely delivery of episodes - Review drafts and flag edits (clarity, pacing, narrative flow) - Upload and publish episodes to hosting platforms and YouTube 3. Content & Distribution - Write show notes, titles, and episode descriptions - Extract key insights into social media content (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok) - Support creation of content ecosystems (clips, reels, quote cards) 4. Growth & Strategy Support - Research relevant guests in placemaking, architecture, and real estate - Identify trends, themes, and opportunities within the sector - Support audience growth and engagement strategies Ideal Candidate - Experience supporting a podcast or media platform - Strong writing and storytelling skills - Highly organised with excellent attention to detail - Interest in cities, culture, architecture, or real estate - Proactive and able to anticipate needs (not just follow instructions) Nice to Have - Familiarity with tools like Descript, Riverside, Asana, Canva, Buzzsprout - Experience repurposing long-form content into short-form - Understanding of Social Media and YouTube content strategy - Previous experience growing a podcast following on social media and YouTube Working Style - Remote, flexible working - Approx. 5–10 hours per week (with potential to grow) - Long-term collaboration preferred To Apply Please include: 1.
