Podcast Editing and Quality Control
Worldwide
I am looking to hire a new editing team to handle the full production cycle for the 101 Ways Out podcast, encompassing core episode editing, the creation of supplemental marketing content, and meticulous quality assurance. Podcast Editing and Quality Control Narrative Storytelling / Hero's Journey Structuring: The ability to analyze long-form interviews and structure the edit to clearly follow the transformative arc of the guest’s story, which Vanessa calls the "hero's journey". Core Episode Editing: Edit long-form podcast interviews (audio and video). This includes balancing sound quality, editing for flow, and ensuring better sound quality than can be achieved with only AI tools. Audio/Video Synchronization: Resolve technical issues, such as audio sync problems that arise when cameras or microphones fail during recording. Quality Assurance (QC): Perform thorough quality control to check for and fix technical glitches that prevent episodes from rendering properly, especially those with multiple cuts. Intro/Outro Management: Manage the insertion of standard intros and outros.6 Incorporate custom-recorded audio outros provided by guests (like Jennifer Sontag). Video Finishing: Ensure smooth transitions, clean cuts, and proper fadeouts (avoiding unintentional abruptness). Visual Content Integration Sourcing and Integration: Request and integrate guest-provided supplemental materials (photos from their life, career, family, childhood, and travels) into the episode video to enhance the visuals and listener inspiration. Audiogram Creation: Create audiograms for audio-only content (like custom outros), which involves putting the audio over a picture with a waveform animation. Deliverables and Post-Production Assets Clips and Teasers: Create short video clips, sound bites, and trailers/teasers from the main episode for promotional use. These are required in both horizontal and vertical formats. Thumbnails: Produce several versions of YouTube and Instagram thumbnails for each episode. Text/Caption Review: Review and correct video captions/subtitles for spelling, grammar, and synchronization errors. Guest Updates: Add a "wrap up" or update at the end of the episode to share what has evolved in the guest's life since the recording. Draft Delivery: Upload drafts of finished episodes (EP 21, 22, 23, 24, etc.) to a shared drive for review. Make changes per Vanessa’s Feedback. Provide final assets before deadline. Written Content Support: Work with the podcast host (Vanessa) to draft or support the creation of a blog post to accompany each episode. Required Technical Skills Proficiency in the Adobe suite, specifically Premiere Pro or equivalent for editing, After Effects for motion/interactive elements, and Photoshop for image tweaks. Experience with AI tools for quick refinements is a plus, but must not compromise quality. Review current episodes here: https://www.youtube.com/@101waysout
