Podcast Producer / Audio Editor for New Interview Podcast
Worldwide
I’m launching a new interview podcast focused on world travel, exploring interesting places, remote work, and the people who build a life across borders. I will be doing the interviews myself, but I need help with the rest of the production workflow. I could probably figure out parts of this myself, but realistically, I do not have the time to edit, mix, polish, write notes, and prepare every episode properly. So I’m looking for someone reliable who can help turn raw interviews into polished, engaging podcast episodes. This is audio-only for now. I may add video later, but this first role is focused on producing a professional-sounding audio podcast. About the episodes - Episodes will usually be around 30–45 minutes after editing. - The raw interview recordings will usually be around 45–55 minutes. - Interviews will be recorded in Riverside, and I will give you a link, so you can take it from there. - The plan is to release one episode per week, so I’m looking for someone who can be part of an ongoing workflow if we’re a good fit. What I need help with: - Audio editing and cleanup - Removing obvious mistakes, long pauses, false starts, and distractions while keeping the conversation natural - Leveling and balancing voices - Noise reduction and overall sound improvement - Finding and adding a strong short clip from the episode as a cold opening - Adding intro/outro music and simple breakers or transitions where needed - Mixing and exporting the final MP3 ready for publishing - Recommending the best MP3 export specs, loudness level, and metadata setup - Writing a strong episode title - Writing clear, listener-friendly show notes - Optional publishing support, depending on your experience and workflow What I’m looking for I’m looking for someone who understands that podcast editing is not only about removing ums and background noise. I want someone who can help shape the listening experience. The ideal person has experience editing interview-style podcasts, understands pacing and storytelling, and can make episodes sound clean, warm, and professional without over-editing the personality out of the conversation. You should be reliable, organized, easy to communicate with, and comfortable working remotely. I’m especially interested in hearing from people who can offer practical advice on improving the recording setup and workflow as the show develops. Budget The listed hourly range is $15–$30 per hour. That said, I’m open to paying more for someone with strong samples, a good ear, and an efficient workflow. I’m also interested in comparing fixed per-episode pricing, since that may make more sense for ongoing production. In your cover letter, please include: - Your fixed price for editing and producing one episode of this type, and what that price includes. - Whether you have worked with Riverside recordings before. - Where you are based, what time zone you are in, and your usual turnaround time for one episode. If we move forward, I may offer a paid trial episode before setting up an ongoing weekly workflow. Hope to hear from you.
