Podcast Production Editor (Hindenburg PRO) - Long-Term Freelance Opportunity

I'm looking for a highly detail-oriented freelance production editor to join me in producing a documentary-style interview podcast. The podcast features in-depth conversations with people who are reimagining work and building stronger communities in creative and unexpected ways. This is not a typical podcast editing role. I make all editorial decisions and provide detailed markup for each round of edits. Your role is to execute those edits accurately in Hindenburg PRO, generate updated transcripts, and prepare each new round for review. Episodes typically go through multiple rounds of refinement (often 10–15), with later rounds focused on fine-tuning. Success in this role depends on exceptional attention to detail, careful version control, and clear communication. Accuracy and reliability are far more important than speed. Responsibilities • Execute detailed edit instructions in Hindenburg PRO • Make precise cuts, rearrange audio, and perform light audio cleanup and leveling as needed • Generate updated transcripts after each round • Organize project files and maintain version control • Communicate clearly about any questions or ambiguities • Meet agreed turnaround times between review rounds Requirements • Experience editing audio in Hindenburg PRO is strongly preferred • Exceptional attention to detail • Strong organizational skills • Excellent written English • Reliability and responsiveness • Comfortable working through multiple iterative revisions Experience editing interview-based podcasts, journalism, documentaries, or narrative audio is a plus. Hours & Availability This is an hourly freelance position with a flexible workload that varies by production schedule. During an active production cycle, there are typically multiple rounds of editing over several consecutive days. I begin my workday at 4:00 a.m. Eastern Time and often review edits first thing in the morning. Ideally, I'd like someone who can complete editing work overnight (U.S. Eastern Time) so updated files are ready when I begin my day. Candidates in other time zones are welcome if their working hours align with this schedule. Project Details I'm looking for someone interested in building a long-term collaborative relationship. My current editor will assist with onboarding and training to help ensure a smooth transition. Compensation Hourly. I have a budget in mind but am open to discussing rates based on experience and proficiency with Hindenburg PRO.
