Podcast Video Editor Needed (Coaching Podcast, Paid Test Episode, Possible Ongoing Work)
Worldwide
ABOUT THE PROJECT: I run a coaching-focused podcast where I sit down with guests for long-form conversations. I'm looking for a skilled video/podcast editor to turn a raw session into a polished, ready-to-publish episode for YouTube. This is a paid test project first: one episode, clear brief, fair pay for the work. If the quality and turnaround are right, this turns into ongoing work editing future episodes. THE RAW MATERIAL: - Sessions run around 45 minutes, recorded as a video conversation between 2 people. - You'll receive multiple camera angles (a wide shot plus an individual angle on each speaker) and multiple audio tracks. Part of the job is syncing and cutting between angles, and mixing the audio tracks into one clean track. - The finished episode should land around 15-20 minutes. This means real editorial judgment, not just trimming dead air. You're cutting for the strongest, most coherent through-line of the conversation, not just chronological order. WHAT I NEED DELIVERED: - A full audio and video edit of the episode, ready to publish to YouTube. - Clean audio (leveled, noise reduction where needed, no harsh cuts). - Smooth visual cuts and camera switching across the multi-angle footage. - A pace that keeps a coaching/interview conversation engaging without losing the substance of what's being discussed. - I'll handle social clips and stills separately. Your job is the long-form edit and the sync/mix work, not chopping it into short-form content. OPTIONAL ADD-ON (please quote separately) In addition to the 15-20 minute cut, please also quote a separate price for delivering a fully synced and audio-mixed export of the entire 45-minute raw session. Untrimmed, just all camera angles cut/synced and audio tracks mixed into one clean track, with no editorial trimming applied. The idea: this becomes a fully polished master we can pull additional short clips from later, without anyone needing to revisit the original raw multicam files. No content judgment needed on your end here, just the same technical sync/mix work, applied to the whole session instead of the trimmed portion. We'll decide whether to include this add-on based on how much it adds to the total price. WHY THIS IS A PAID TEST FIRST: I've worked with editors before and haven't loved the results, so I want to see how someone approaches this specific kind of footage before committing to an ongoing arrangement. I don't have a reference episode in this exact style to point you to. Part of what I'm evaluating is how you make editorial calls on a 45-minute conversation with no prior example to follow. BUDGET AND TIMELINE: - Flat rate per episode for the main 15-20 minute edit. Open to your proposal based on the scope above. - Add-on rate for the full synced/mixed 45-minute master described above. Quote this separately. - Turnaround: 3-4 days from when you receive the raw files for the main edit. Let me know if the add-on changes that. TO APPLY, PLEASE INCLUDE: - A link to 1-2 samples of similar work, ideally a long-form interview/coaching/podcast edit involving multicam sync, not just short-form clips. - Your proposed flat rate for the main episode edit, and a separate quote for the full synced-session add-on described above. - What software you edit in (Premiere, Final Cut, DaVinci Resolve, etc.) and your experience syncing multicam footage with separate audio tracks. - A sentence on how you'd approach turning a 45-minute multicam conversation into a tight 15-20 minute cut. What you're listening for when deciding what stays and what goes. US-based editors preferred, but open to anyone whose samples speak for themselves.
