We deliver evidence-based insights to NGOs, public institutions, and private organizations worldwide. *Position Overview We are seeking an experienced political researcher, analyst, or journalist to join a short-term project focused on the evolving political landscape in the People's Republic of China (PRC), the Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions (SARs), and Cross-Strait relations. The assignment involves conducting targeted research, gathering open-source intelligence (OSINT), and mapping key political, economic, and media developments in response to recent policy shifts and institutional changes. This is a project-based, independent contractor role - ideal for professionals with a deep understanding of PRC domestic politics, regional diplomacy, and the socio-economic dynamics shaping the current environment. Fluency in reading and analyzing Chinese-language sources is strictly required. *Key Responsibilities Research and analyze political and institutional developments within the PRC, including governance challenges, policy implementation, and international engagement. Collect and verify information from credible Chinese-language sources, including local and state media, public records, think tank outputs, and official government statements. Identify key actors, networks, and narratives shaping current political and economic discourse. Prepare a concise, structured analytical report in English summarizing findings, backed by verifiable sources and clear contextual framing. Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity in all deliverables. *Qualifications Proven experience in political analysis, journalism, or international research, ideally related to East Asia. Language skills: Native or full professional proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (for source analysis) and excellent analytical writing skills in English (for reporting). Strong knowledge of PRC politics, governance, and regional diplomatic dynamics (regional contacts or specialized academic expertise are a plus). Demonstrated ability to conduct OSINT-based analysis and source verification, specifically within the Chinese digital and media ecosystem. Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines (7–14 days turnaround). *Compensation & Work Model Freelance / Project-based position. *Application Process To apply, please submit: Your CV.
