We deliver evidence-based insights to NGOs, public institutions, and private organizations worldwide. *Position Overview We are seeking an experienced political researcher, analyst, or journalist to join a short-term project focused on the evolving political landscape in the India. The assignment involves conducting targeted research and mapping key political, economic, and media developments in response to recent policy shifts and institutional changes. This is a project-based, independent contractor role - ideal for professionals with a deep understanding of Indian domestic politics, regional diplomacy, and the socio-economic dynamics shaping the current environment. *Key Responsibilities Analyze Developments: Research and analyze political and institutional developments within India, including governance challenges, policy implementation, and international engagement. Information Gathering: Collect and verify information from credible sources, including national, state, and regional media, public records, think tank outputs, and official government statements. Map Networks: Identify key actors, networks, and narratives shaping current political and economic discourse. Report Writing: Prepare a concise, structured analytical report in English summarizing findings, backed by verifiable sources and clear contextual framing. Professional Integrity: Ensure accuracy, confidentiality, and professional integrity in all deliverables. *Qualifications Proven experience in political analysis, journalism, or international research, ideally related to South Asia and the Indo-Pacific region. Language skills: Native or full professional proficiency in Hindi or relevant regional Indian languages (for local source and media analysis) alongside excellent analytical writing skills in English (for final reporting). Strong knowledge of Indian politics, governance structures (both central and state levels), and regional diplomatic dynamics. Regional contacts or specialized academic expertise are a plus.
