Portrait Editor Position | White Rose Portraits

Hi, I'm James, a photographer based in Australia. I run two photography brands. The first is White Rose Portraits, where I photograph families almost exclusively in black and white. The goal isn't to create images that grab attention online. It's to create photographs that become part of a family's home and are still meaningful decades from now. The second is my couples and wedding brand, where I photograph engagements, couples and weddings in both colour and black & white. Although the style is different, the purpose is the same. I want people to look back at these photographs years later and remember exactly how life felt in that moment. As the businesses continue to grow, I'm looking for an editor to become part of the team. Not someone who simply processes images, but someone who genuinely cares about producing beautiful work. The role: There is a steady stream of family sessions throughout the year, along with couples sessions and weddings. Everything is scheduled in advance, so you'll always know what's coming up and when it needs to be delivered. This includes things like: * Completing around 40–80 images for family and couples sessions. * Completing around 300–400 images for weddings. * Refining exposure, highlights and shadows. * Cropping and straightening where needed. * Using dodging, burning and gradients to subtly draw attention to the subject. * Making sure every gallery feels consistent from beginning to end. Who this isn't for: This role probably isn't a good fit if you struggle to meet deadlines or need constant reminders to finish work. Likewise, if receiving feedback is difficult, we're probably not going to work well together. The editing itself isn't overly complicated or high end, but I do care about consistency, and I want someone who takes pride in getting the details right. Who I'm looking for: I'm looking for someone who's reliable, organised and naturally detail-oriented. Someone who notices when an image feels just slightly off. Someone who cares enough to spend another minute fixing it instead of moving on. Ideally you: * Have experience using Adobe Lightroom Classic. * Are comfortable communicating in English. * Meet deadlines consistently. * Are open to feedback and happy to refine your work. * Take ownership of what you deliver. More than anything, I want someone I can trust. Turnaround & Rate Family & Couples Sessions - *2–3 business days Weddings - 5–7 business days Rate: AUD $0.35 per image. If higher end retouching is required for print work, I would be open to an obviously higher rate per image.
