Power BI Architect Needed to Build SharePoint Folder-Based KPI Dashboard System for Law Firms

We need a Power BI and SharePoint automation expert to build a standardized reporting system where financial and operational reports placed into designated SharePoint folders automatically populate a reusable Power BI KPI dashboard template. Instead, the system should ingest standardized Excel CSV or PDF files from SharePoint folders. The workflow should operate as follows: 1) Client reports are exported from the client’s accounting, case management, payroll, or marketing systems. 2) Those reports are placed into a designated SharePoint folder. 3) Power BI automatically reads the folder contents. 4) Power Query cleans, standardizes, and combines the uploaded files. 5) The Power BI dashboard updates based on the latest available reports. The company can repeat this same setup across multiple law firm clients Must have experience with: Power BI, Power Query, SharePoint Online folders as a data source, Excel and CSV data ingestion, Data modeling, Dashboard template design, Automated refresh setup, Row-level security or client-specific access controls, Financial reporting dashboards, Process documentation Strong preference for candidates with experience in: Law firms, Professional services, Accounting firms, Fractional CFO reporting, Multi-client reporting environments. Project Scope Phase 1 – System Architecture: - Design the recommended structure for a SharePoint-folder-based reporting system. - This should include: - SharePoint folder architecture - Required report naming conventions - Required Excel/CSV input templates - Power BI data model structure - Refresh process - Security model - Client onboarding process Phase 2 – Standard Input Templates: - Create standardized file templates for reports that will be saved each month. - Possible templates include: - Profit and Loss - Balance Sheet - Cash Flow - Revenue by Month - Payroll Summary - Marketing Spend - Case Intake - Case Inventory - Settlement Tracking - Trust Reconciliation Status The goal is to allow reports from different accounting or practice management systems to be converted into consistent upload templates. Phase 3 – SharePoint Folder Automation: - Build Power BI connections to designated SharePoint folders. Requirements: - Power BI reads all files in a designated folder - Files are filtered by naming convention - Files are combined automatically - Incorrect or missing files can be flagged - Dashboard updates when new files are added - Historical files remain available for trend reporting Phase 4 – Power BI Dashboard Template: - Build a reusable Power BI dashboard template for personal injury law firms. - Dashboard sections should include: - Executive summary - Financial performance - Cash flow - Revenue trends - Expense trends - Payroll metrics - Marketing KPIs - Case pipeline KPIs - Trust accounting status - Exception reporting Phase 5 – Repeatable Client Onboarding Process: - Document the full process so we can repeat the system for future clients. The final deliverables should include: - SharePoint folder architecture - Standardized Excel/CSV input templates -Power BI data model -Power Query transformations -Reusable Power BI dashboard template - Automated refresh setup - Error/missing-file flagging - Client-specific security/access recommendations - Repeatable SOP for onboarding new law firm clients - Training session or walkthrough for our company This is not a graphic dashboard design project. We need someone who can build the underlying reporting system, not just make charts look attractive. The system must be scalable, repeatable, and easy for us to deploy across multiple clients. The system should work from standardized files uploaded into SharePoint folders.
