Power BI Developer — Restaurant Analytics (End-to-End)

We're a restaurant business looking for a Power BI specialist who can take ownership of our analytics from the ground up. This is not a "build me pretty charts" role. We need someone who understands restaurant operations, knows what numbers actually drive a food business, and can translate raw data into decisions our management team can act on. What You'll Be Doing Audit our current data sources and design a clean, scalable data model in Azure SQL / Synapse Build an end-to-end reporting solution: data pipeline, semantic layer, and Power BI dashboards Identify the KPIs that actually matter in restaurant operations (covers, COGS, labour %, table turns, void rates, waste, etc.) and build around those Advise us on Power BI licensing — we need the right plan for our team size, not the most expensive one Embed reports in Microsoft Teams so our managers see numbers where they already work Document your work so we're not dependent on you forever Required Skills Power BI (DAX, Power Query, data modelling, RLS) Azure (SQL Database, Synapse, or Data Factory — tell us what you've worked with) T-SQL / SQL Server — you must be able to write and optimise queries yourself Power BI licensing knowledge — capacity vs. per-user, Premium vs. Pro, embedded scenarios Microsoft Teams embedding experience Restaurant or F&B industry experience strongly preferred Nice to Have SharePoint integration Power Apps (for data entry or operational workflows alongside reporting) Experience with POS system data What We're NOT Looking For A freelancer who takes a CSV and builds a dashboard. We need someone who can look at our numbers and tell us something is wrong before we notice it ourselves. If your strength is aesthetics over analytics, this is not the right fit.
