​Prepress Production Artist – Logo Vectorization & Packaging Layouts for Paper Bags

​We are a business specializing in the personalization and branding of paper bags for B2B clients. We do not design logos from scratch. Instead, our clients provide us with their existing logos, graphics, or branding details. We are looking for a detail-oriented Prepress / Production Artist to take these client assets, clean them up, vectorize them if necessary, and place them into print-ready layouts for our paper bags. ​Scope of Work ​Vectorization & Cleanup: Convert low-resolution client logos (JPEG, PNG) into clean, high-quality vector formats (.AI, .EPS, .PDF). ​Layout Placement: Place and scale the client's logo/details onto our paper bag die-lines (templates) ensuring correct margins, centering, and bleed. ​Color Optimization: Convert RGB or digital assets into CMYK or specific Pantone (PMS) colors, optimizing the artwork for 1-color or 2-color printing processes. ​Print-Ready Export: Deliver flawless, production-ready files that can go straight to the printing press without errors. ​Technical Requirements ​Expertise in Adobe Illustrator (this is the primary tool for this role). ​Deep understanding of prepress requirements: bleed, safe zones, overprint, and stroke expansion. ​Ability to work with spot colors (Pantone) and minimize color counts to optimize production costs. ​Understanding of how ink behaves on paper/kraft surfaces (avoiding ultra-fine lines or tiny fonts that won't print clearly). ​Qualifications ​Proven experience as a Prepress Specialist, Production Artist, or Packaging Layout Designer. ​Fast turnaround times and high precision (fonts must be outlined, links embedded). ​Strong communication skills to handle steady, per-project tasks. ​How to Apply ​To be considered, please reply with: ​Examples of prepress work or vectorization projects you have done (Before/After format is highly preferred). ​Your availability and typical turnaround time for a single bag layout. ​Your rate per layout/project. ​To prove you have read and understood that this is a technical layout/prepress job and NOT a creative logo design job, please start your cover letter with the word "PREPRESS".
