Primary Maths Curriculum Developer

We are hiring experienced primary teachers to develop explicit, classroom-ready Maths curriculum for Foundation to Year 6 (ages 5–12). This is an ongoing role requiring a commitment of approximately 30–40 hours per week. Primary classroom teaching experience is essential. Please do not apply if you have not taught Maths in a primary school setting. You will develop scopes and sequences, lesson plans, teacher scripts, student workbook activities, digital lessons and assessment tasks. You will translate curriculum outcomes and mathematical content into structured, carefully sequenced learning for primary students using a Direct Instruction approach. You must be able to break mathematical concepts, procedures and reasoning into small, teachable steps and anticipate common student errors and misconceptions. You will work with curriculum outcomes, lesson-development frameworks, templates, exemplars and source materials. You must be comfortable making curriculum decisions, interpreting curriculum requirements and working within an established program structure. Required • Primary classroom teaching experience • Strong primary Maths subject and curriculum knowledge • Strong written English and excellent attention to detail • Experience planning and delivering Maths units for primary students • Experience planning structured and sequenced mathematical learning • Ability to explain mathematical concepts, procedures and reasoning clearly and accurately • Ability to follow detailed templates, instructions and our framework for curriculum and lesson development • Ability to commit approximately 30–40 hours each week • Availability for at least three hours during Australian Eastern business hours on each working day • Ability to maintain a consistent weekly schedule and work shifts of at least four hours • Ability to meet agreed deadlines and complete work within set timeframes • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel • Access to a personal computer (not Mac) with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel installed Advantageous • Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum (ACARA) • Experience with Direct Instruction or other explicit instruction approaches • Familiarity with Singapore Maths, as our Foundation–Year 6 Maths program draws upon and aligns with this framework • Experience using concrete, pictorial and abstract representations to develop mathematical understanding • Curriculum-writing or educational publishing experience • Experience developing digital learning materials • Experience developing a primary Maths curriculum program from the beginning Although you may initially begin on a defined project or contract, there are opportunities for ongoing, long-term work.
