Primary Science Curriculum Developer

We are hiring experienced primary teachers to develop explicit, classroom-ready Science curriculum for Foundation to Year 6 (ages 5–12). This is an ongoing role requiring a commitment of approximately 30-40 hours per week. Primary classroom teaching experience is essential. Please do not apply if you have not taught in a primary classroom. You will develop scopes and sequences, lesson plans, teacher scripts, student workbook activities, digital lessons and assessment tasks. You will translate curriculum outcomes and Science content into structured, sequenced learning for primary students using an explicit instruction approach. This position is focused on curriculum development and lesson writing. It is not a scientific research role. You will work with curriculum outcomes, lesson-development frameworks, templates, exemplars and source materials. You must be comfortable making curriculum decisions, interpreting curriculum requirements and working within an established program structure. Required • Primary classroom teaching experience • Strong Science subject and curriculum knowledge • Strong written English • Experience planning and delivering Science units of work for primary students • Experience planning structured and sequenced learning for primary students • Ability to translate curriculum outcomes into explicit, classroom-ready lessons • Ability to follow detailed templates, instructions and our framework for curriculum and lesson development • Ability to commit approximately 30 hours each week • Availability for at least three hours during Australian Eastern business hours on each working day • Ability to maintain a consistent weekly schedule and work shifts of at least four hours • Ability to meet agreed deadlines and complete work within set timeframes • Strong proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel • Access to a PC computer (not Mac) with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word and Excel installed Advantageous • Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum • Experience with explicit instruction • Curriculum-writing or educational publishing experience • Experience writing digital learning materials Although you may initially begin on a defined project or contract, there are opportunities for ongoing, long-term work.
