Product Designer (Contract) — UI Polish + Design System for Mobile & Web App

We're looking for a detail-oriented product designer to polish the UI across two existing products — a mobile app and a companion management web app — and to build a reusable design system from our current designs. The user flows and screens already exist; your job is to make everything consistent, clean, and production-ready, then codify those decisions into a system the team can build on. Scope ~50 screens total across a mobile app and a web-based management dashboard Visual polish and standardization (not flow/UX restructuring — flows are already defined) Creation of a design system derived from the existing designs What you'll do Audit the current screens and identify inconsistencies in icons, color, typography, spacing, and components Standardize core UI elements — icons, color palette, buttons, form fields, and other shared components — across all screens Build a design system: design tokens (color, type, spacing), a component library, and usage guidelines Ensure visual consistency between the mobile app and the web management app while respecting platform conventions Deliver clean, organized, developer-ready files with components and styles properly structured Requirements Strong portfolio showing UI polish and design-system work for both mobile and web Proficiency in [Figma — please confirm your tool] with components, variants, auto-layout, and design tokens Solid grasp of visual hierarchy, spacing systems, and accessibility basics Experience standardizing an existing/inconsistent UI (not just greenfield design) Self-directed, detail-obsessed, and good at documenting design decisions Nice to have Experience designing data-heavy management dashboards Familiarity with handoff to developers and design-to-code workflows Deliverables Polished, consistent screens across both apps (~50 total) A complete design system: tokens, component library, and documentation Engagement [Contract / freelance — duration TBD] Budget: [your range] Timeline: [target start + rough deadline] To apply Please share your portfolio (with relevant design-system or UI-polish examples) and a short note on your tool of choice and availability.
