Product Designer – Premium Laser Cut Metal Wall Art (Vector Illustration, SVG/DXF)
Worldwide
Job Description We are building a product line of premium laser-cut metal wall art and are looking for a talented designer for an ongoing working relationship. This is not simply a vector-tracing position. We need someone who can develop original product concepts, create attractive compositions, and turn those concepts into clean, production-ready vector files. Our initial product categories will focus on: • Wildlife and hunting scenes • Fishing and lake-life designs • Pine forests and outdoor landscapes • Cabin and lodge décor • Personalized signs and monograms • Seasonal outdoor décor The right designer should be able to take a general idea or reference image—such as three Norway pine trees, a hunter with a dog, or an elk in a mountain scene—and develop it into an original, visually balanced product suitable for cutting from sheet metal. Primary Responsibilities • Research the subject and develop original design concepts. • Create preliminary sketches or black-and-white concept previews. • Design complete silhouettes and balanced compositions. • Convert approved concepts into production-ready SVG and DXF files. • Build artwork that remains connected after cutting. • Use bridges and negative space correctly. • Avoid unsupported islands, fragile details, and weak features. • Adjust designs for specific finished-product sizes. • Make revisions based on clear feedback. • Maintain a consistent visual style across an expanding product catalog. • Organize and deliver final design files using an agreed naming system. Required Experience • Original vector illustration and product design. • Adobe Illustrator, CorelDRAW, Affinity Designer, Inkscape, or comparable software. • SVG and DXF file preparation. Manufacturing Requirements Final artwork must be suitable for physical manufacturing and should include: • Closed vector paths. • No stray points or open lines. • No duplicate or overlapping cut paths. • No unsupported internal islands. • Adequate bridges between design elements. • Reasonable minimum feature widths. • Controlled and efficient node counts. • Clean SVG and DXF exports. • One-color black silhouette previews. • Artwork scaled to the requested finished dimensions. • Laser-cut, plasma-cut, waterjet, CNC, or metal-sign artwork. • Silhouette composition and negative-space design. • Clean, closed vector paths suitable for manufacturing. • Ability to create original artwork rather than only tracing existing images. Strongly preferred: Experience creating wildlife, outdoor, hunting, fishing, cabin, nature, or rustic décor artwork.
