AI Product Designer for Language Learning Platform

We are a New York based AI startup building a next generation language learning platform powered by personalized, dynamic content. Led by a founder who previously scaled a company to 100M+ in revenue, we are building an adaptive system where every learner receives content generated specifically for their level, interests, and progress. We’re looking for a Product Designer who is strong in UX thinking, visual design, Figma, and AI assisted design workflows. You should be able to use AI based tools to move quickly from product concepts to low fidelity wireframes, high fidelity designs, prototypes, and polished interface directions. Scope of work You will design product experiences for Ella across onboarding, content discovery, playback, learning flows, settings, and other core product areas. Your work should combine strong UX logic, clean visual execution, and fast iteration using both Figma and AI design tools. You will: - Design intuitive UX flows for onboarding, content consumption, playback, settings, and learning experiences. - Create low fidelity wireframes and high fidelity product designs using Figma and AI based design tools. - Use AI tools to accelerate ideation, layout exploration, visual direction, prototyping, and design variations. - Think critically about usability, hierarchy, interaction states, edge cases, and user behavior. - Collaborate with product and engineering to refine designs based on feedback, constraints, and implementation needs. - Maintain consistency across screens, components, and product patterns. - Prepare developer ready designs with clear structure, states, and annotations where needed. Your work will help shape Ella’s core learning experience, making a complex AI powered product feel simple, engaging, and easy to use. What we are looking for: - Strong experience with Figma. - Experience using AI based design tools for wireframing, prototyping, UI generation, moodboards, visual exploration, or design iteration. - Experience with design systems and reusable components. - Strong UX thinking and ability to structure clear user flows. - Strong visual design skills, including layout, spacing, typography, hierarchy, and interaction design. - Good communication and ability to explain design decisions. Nice to have: - Experience designing AI products, language learning products, education products, or content based platforms. This is a freelance or part time, project based role with potential for long term and full time work. Fully remote.
