Product Development Engineer for Adult Care

Former employees of or other Kimberly-Clark, Proctor & Gamble, Essity, First Quality, or other hygiene-product manufacturers are especially encouraged to apply. We are seeking an experienced product development engineer with a background in disposable hygiene products, medical disposables, absorbent products, or soft goods manufacturing. Background in soft-goods engineering, textile engineering, or consumer medical product development. Proven experience taking products from concept through prototyping. Familiarity with licensing-driven product development and proof-of-concept testing. Our team has developed a patent-pending product called DenoGuard, an insert designed to improve the management of urinary incontinence in adults, The concept was created by caregivers working in an assisted living environment who have first hand experience with the challenges of changing wet adult briefs and underwear. We have a homemade prototype and are seeking assistance refining the design and producing approximately 30 functional prototypes for caregiver evaluation and proof-of-concept testing. Responsibilities include designing and testing prototypes, collaborating and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The role requires strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. Concept & Prototype Review: Evaluate our existing prototype and provide design feedback and improvement recommendations Materials Selection: Recommend appropriate materials for a disposable, absorbent-care application. Design Development: Create detailed drawings, specifications, and dimensional requirements. CAD & Documentation: Develop CAD files fand manufacturing-ready technical documentation. Prototyping Strategy: Advise on and support low-volume prototype manufacturing methods. Project Goals: Our immediate goal is not mass production. We are focused on creating a small batch of functional prototypes for evaluation in an assisted living environment. If testing validates the concept, our long-term objective is to license the product to an established manufacturer in the home healthcare industry. When responding, please provide: 1.
