Product Reputation Enhancement Specialist

We are looking for an experienced Windows application distribution and code-signing expert who has successfully helped software vendors eliminate or significantly reduce Microsoft SmartScreen warnings. Our Situation - We develop desktop applications for both Windows and macOS. Our Windows installer is digitally signed, and we have been signing our releases consistently for over a year. Despite this, many users still receive the Microsoft SmartScreen warning when attempting to install our software. We are looking for someone who understands exactly how SmartScreen reputation works—not just general code signing—and can help us identify why this is happening and what we need to change. What We Need - We are looking for someone who has practical, hands-on experience with: Microsoft SmartScreen reputation Windows code signing (OV and EV certificates) Authenticode signing Installer signing (MSI/EXE) Timestamping Software distribution best practices Common causes of persistent SmartScreen warnings Successfully helping commercial software vendors eliminate or minimize SmartScreen prompts Deliverables We would like you to: - Review our current signing and release process - Identify why SmartScreen reputation is not being established - Explain what is happening technically - Recommend the most effective solution(s) - Help us implement any necessary changes if needed This is primarily a consulting engagement, although there may be follow-up implementation work if required.
