Looking for a designer with taste, not just a slide operator. We produce client-facing materials in retail mostly new product proposals on tight timelines. I need a second set of hands and a second set of eyes during the workday. The most important thing is how to present information visually concisely. The work 70% presentation design — turning rough content, notes, and bad first drafts into clean, well-structured decks 20% supporting visuals — diagrams, charts, light photo work, image cleanup and compositing 10% "does this look right?" — quick design gut-checks, layout opinions, fixing something that feels off A lot of this is PowerPoint. If you're the kind of designer who thinks information hierarchy, spacing, and font choices matter, you're exactly who I'm trying to hire. You should be Genuinely expert in PowerPoint not just "I can use it." Slide masters, layouts, alignment tools, consistent type scales, files that don't fall apart when someone else opens them. Comfortable in Photoshop for cleanup, cutouts, and compositing. Product shots that need to be pulled off bad backgrounds and made to sit together on a slide. Willing to tell me when something's ugly and tell me why. I don't want silent execution. Fast on small stuff. Some requests are 20 minutes, not 20 hours. What the workload actually looks like One to three requests a day. Some days none, some days more. Nothing here requires you to sit and wait — I'm asking you to be reachable and able to pick things up same-day, with a response time under about two hours during the 9–5 Central window. Setup [We have existing brand templates you'd work within. / There's no template system yet — building one is part of the job.] Beyond PowerPoint and Photoshop, [Illustrator/Figma is a plus but not required]. To apply Skip the template intro. Send me: Two examples where you took messy or ugly source material and made it clear. Before/after preferred. One design choice you see people make constantly that you think is wrong — and what you do instead. One or two sentences. First project is paid at full rate, small scope, so we can both see if it works.
