Product and Growth Lead

Summary

The role We are looking for a rare kind of product leader: someone who can understand a technically ambitious product, turn an unfinished body of work into a clear operating plan, and personally drive that plan across product, growth, content, and community. This is not a role for someone who only maintains a roadmap, runs ceremonies, or hands work to other teams. It is a hands-on, AI-forward operating role for a person who likes creating momentum: clarifying the next decision, shaping the work, delegating it intelligently to people and agents, following through, and getting the result in front of users. Your first major focus will be an AI-native multiplayer strategy game. You will help move it from a technically substantial product and a large body of planning work into a coherent launch, a disciplined growth program, and an increasingly strong player community over the next 5–10 days. Over time, you will apply the same operating ability across a small portfolio of founder-led products involving AI, games, developer infrastructure, and new forms of digital coordination. How we work: humans directing agents We have built an internal execution and coordination system comprising a swarm of persistent Hermes agents. The system accepts work, routes tasks to the appropriate agent or human, maintains project context, tracks progress and dependencies, returns artifacts for review, and preserves a record of decisions and outcomes. You will not be expected to perform knowledge work at ordinary manual speed. You will be expected to operate at AI velocity: using agents to research, synthesize, draft, analyze, prepare campaigns, structure product work, follow up on open loops, and keep multiple workstreams moving in parallel. You will have your own agent identity within this system. It can receive tasks from you, the founder, and other authorized parts of the organization; help maintain your operating context; coordinate with specialist agents; and return work for your review. Part of your job is to make this human-agent partnership effective: providing good context, defining acceptance criteria, reviewing outputs, correcting course, and ensuring that completed work creates a real result. You do not have to adopt our interface as your only working environment. If you already have a strong custom agent stack, we are open to it, provided it can interface cleanly with our task and coordination system, respect our authority and data boundaries, and leave work visible and auditable to the rest of the team. Personal AI productivity that creates an opaque parallel operation is not sufficient. AI velocity does not mean accepting plausible output without inspection. The human owner remains accountable for judgment, facts, quality, permissions, and the final result. What you will own Turn direction into an executable product plan Convert founder decisions, research, player feedback, and technical work into a short, ordered plan with clear owners, dependencies, and definitions of done. Keep the product narrative, roadmap, launch plan, and current implementation aligned. Break ambiguous initiatives into work that engineering, design, marketing, community, contractors, and AI agents can execute without repeated founder intervention. Surface the few decisions that genuinely require the founder and move everything else forward independently. Close loops. Notice when a promising piece of work is stalled, underspecified, or nearly finished, and push it to a useful outcome. Direct an AI-enabled execution system Use your assigned agent as an active operating counterpart, not merely as a writing assistant. Package goals into well-scoped tasks with the context, constraints, authority, evidence, and acceptance criteria that people and agents need to execute safely. Delegate research, synthesis, drafting, analysis, coordination, and follow-up to the right agents while retaining ownership of prioritization and final quality. Review agent output critically, verify consequential claims, and turn useful artifacts into decisions, shipped work, or measurable experiments. Keep work and decisions legible in the shared system so that the founder, contributors, and other agents can understand current state without reconstructing it from private chats. Help improve the operating system itself by identifying missing workflows, weak handoffs, unnecessary human bottlenecks, and opportunities for safe automation. Run launches and growth programs Own launch and campaign execution from concept through measurement: positioning, audience, channel plan, assets, outreach, community activation, follow-up, and retrospective. Build repeatable acquisition and activation loops rather than relying on isolated announcements. Establish a useful funnel from first contact through signup, meaningful product use, return, and advocacy. Design lightweight experiments, define what success means in advance, and use the results to decide what to do next. Turn real product moments into stories, demonstrations, community events, partnerships, and content that people want to share. Lead day-to-day marketing execution Manage and raise the output of our existing marketing support: set priorities, assign clear deliverables, review quality, and maintain a dependable publishing cadence. Personally write, edit, and ship when necessary. Early on, no important task is beneath the role. Build relationships with relevant creators, communities, partners, players, and press; make targeted outreach a regular operating habit. Maintain a content calendar tied to actual product progress and player evidence. Protect trust by clearly distinguishing what is live, what is in development, and what is exploratory. Become a trusted product counterpart to the founder Develop enough command of the product, market, and technical architecture to challenge assumptions and improve decisions—not merely document them. Bring concise recommendations, evidence, tradeoffs, and a proposed next move. Create a weekly operating view: what shipped, what changed, what we learned, what is blocked, and what matters next. Reduce the amount of coordination and follow-up that depends on the founder while preserving the founder’s ownership of core vision, game design principles, economic design, and major architectural choices. What success looks like You will have: learned the product by using it, reading the existing work, and speaking with the people building and promoting it; produced one credible view of the launch path, current bottlenecks, and highest-leverage next moves; established a working cadence for product execution, marketing deliverables, content, outreach, and measurement; audited public messaging so that it accurately reflects the product; and taken direct ownership of at least one important initiative and moved it to completion. shipped a coordinated product or campaign milestone with clear results; made our activation and retention funnel visible enough to guide decisions; created a steady flow of strong product-led content and external outreach; improved the quality, pace, and accountability of marketing execution; converted major open work into an actively managed plan with fewer stalled or ownerless items; established a dependable working relationship with your agent and used the broader Hermes swarm to increase throughput without lowering quality or obscuring accountability; and materially reduced the founder’s day-to-day execution burden. The person we are looking for You are likely a strong fit if: You have led a 0→1 product, launch, or growth program and can point to what you personally made happen. You combine product judgment with operating intensity. You can move between strategy, a technical discussion, a campaign brief, an analytics review, and a piece of copy without losing the thread. You are technically fluent enough to work credibly with engineers and reason about APIs, AI systems, data flows, wallets, smart contracts, and the difference between implemented behavior and a concept. You do not need to be the engineer writing the contracts. You understand how product, positioning, distribution, community, and retention reinforce one another. You can manage creative or marketing contributors with clarity and high standards. You communicate exceptionally well in writing. You can turn a complicated body of work into a clear decision, brief, plan, or story. You are comfortable in an early-stage environment where the map is incomplete, priorities can change as evidence arrives, and progress often begins with you making the first draft. You are direct, low-ego, resourceful, and persistent. You know when to challenge, when to decide, and when to simply get the work done. You already use AI tools as part of a serious operating practice—not just for occasional prompting—and can explain how you delegate, supply context, evaluate output, manage state, and recover when an agent is wrong. You are excited by the prospect of managing an agent that can itself receive and coordinate tasks, and you understand that effective delegation to agents is a real management discipline. You can work within a shared, auditable execution system. You value durable task state, explicit ownership, traceable decisions, and clear approval boundaries. You are comfortable connecting your preferred tools to an existing system through APIs or other defined interfaces when that produces a better workflow. Experience in games, crypto, AI products, developer tools, or technically complex communities is valuable. Depth in one of these areas plus demonstrated ability to learn the others is more important than checking every box. This role is probably not for you if Your model of product management is primarily meetings, ticket administration, and status reporting. You want a large team or established process before you can produce results. You prefer to advise on growth while someone else writes the copy, runs the outreach, and owns the number. You treat technical detail as somebody else’s concern. You need your remit to stay inside a single conventional function. You optimize for the appearance of activity rather than shipped work, user evidence, and closed loops. You primarily use AI as a chatbot, resist delegating meaningful work to agents, or regard review and verification as optional. You prefer keeping tasks and agent activity in a private workflow that the rest of the organization cannot inspect or coordinate with. Scope and decision rights You will have broad authority to organize the operating cadence, shape and sequence work, run approved campaigns, manage marketing execution, and propose product and growth decisions. You may delegate work within the approved scope to your assigned agent and the internal agent swarm. Agent delegation does not expand your authority: external communications, spending, production changes, access to sensitive data, and other consequential actions remain subject to the same approval gates whether initiated by a human or an agent. The founder retains final authority over company direction, core product vision, game and economic design, material spending, production releases, legal or regulatory commitments, token or chain decisions, and public promises with substantial reputational risk. A major part of succeeding in this role is learning which calls you should make, which calls need a concise recommendation and approval, and which work can move immediately. How to apply Send us: A short note explaining why this particular combination of product, growth, technology, and hands-on execution fits you. Two examples of work you personally drove from ambiguity to a measurable result. Be specific about your role, constraints, actions, and outcome. One example of something you wrote or produced: a launch plan, product brief, campaign, piece of content, operating memo, or similar artifact. A brief description of your current AI workflow. Tell us what you delegate, what tools or agents you use, how you review their work, and one concrete way this has changed your output. Your location, working hours, availability, and preferred engagement model. We care more about evidence of judgment, ownership, and output than pedigree or polished job titles. Shortlisted candidates should expect a live working session using a small, representative product-and-growth problem. We will be interested in both your judgment and how you direct AI tools while working.
