Productionize & publish an Excel-native FP&A platform (Microsoft Fabric, .NET, React, Office.js)
Worldwide
ABOUT THE PRODUCT Spreadeo is an enterprise financial planning and forecasting platform, native to Excel and built on Microsoft Fabric. Finance teams model and forecast in Excel grids they already know, backed by a governed backend running in the customer's own Microsoft tenant. The MVP is complete and being delivered to our first enterprise customer (a hospitality investment firm). We are hiring one team to productionize, publish, and extend the platform. This is a long-term roadmap with a committed founder; the first contract covers the phases below, milestone by milestone. TECH STACK - Excel Add-in: React, TypeScript, Office.js, Fluent UI v9 - Admin web app: React (delivered as a Microsoft Fabric workload) - Backend: .NET 8 / C# REST APIs - Data: Microsoft Fabric (SQL Database + Warehouse), Microsoft Entra auth, Azure - Proprietary calculation engine: consumed as a compiled package. It is NOT part of this engagement and its source is not shared. SCOPE (FIXED PRICE, PAID PER MILESTONE) Phase 1: Add-in to market 1. Production hosting of the Excel add-in on our existing Azure subscription and domain, working in Excel desktop AND Excel on the web. 2. Publish the add-in to Microsoft AppSource: Partner Center setup support, validation fixes, submission, approved listing. 3. Stabilization and hardening of the add-in (bugs, performance, error handling), and migration of our admin/licensing service from its current Azure tenant to our dedicated Azure tenant. Phase 2: Engineering foundation 4. CI/CD pipelines and dev/test/prod environments (GitHub Actions). 5. Automated test infrastructure: regression and parity test plumbing so identical inputs always produce identical validated outputs (test definitions and expected values are provided by us), plus performance/load testing at realistic data volume. 6. Monitoring, alerting, and telemetry. 7. Update and release mechanism for all components (including workload update/rollback). Phase 3: Fabric workload (admin web application) 8. Admin UI v1 to production quality: full CRUD for users and licenses, entities, and role/permission assignments (fixed role set); view-only data model browser; audit log viewer over our existing audit data. 9. Workload backend to production quality (REST APIs, hardening, configuration externalization; the calculation/save core remains ours). 10. Publish the workload to the Microsoft Fabric Workload Hub. Phase 4: Operations at scale 11. Customer onboarding and tenant provisioning (repeatable, documented, automated). 12. Customer data onboarding (ETL): chart of accounts, historical actuals, mapping, validation with data-quality reporting. 13. Licensing and billing through Stripe, priced by number of entities, integrated with our licensing service. 14. Security review and hardening (Entra app permissions, pen test, compliance posture). 15. Support setup: helpdesk/ticketing, escalation path, SLA definitions. Phase 5: Product expansion and content 16. Power BI app connected to the same Fabric data. 17. Custom Excel functions (e.g. SPRD.GOP()) and a formula designer platform SHELL (function registration, designer UI, plumbing; formula semantics/evaluation are implemented by us against a defined interface). 18. Marketing site: landing pages, product info, pricing page, contact/demo request, privacy policy and terms pages (legal text provided by us). 19. User and admin documentation / help content (setup guides, user docs, short how-to videos). Ongoing (after the phases, separate arrangement) 20. Continuous feature development on the product's edges. 21. Test authoring under our review. HOW WE WORK (NON-NEGOTIABLE) - NDA and full IP assignment to our company signed BEFORE any code access. All work happens in OUR GitHub organization and OUR accounts (including Upwork escrow, Partner Center, Azure). All deliverables are our property. - The proprietary calculation engine stays in-house: you consume it as a compiled package. Changes to how financial numbers are produced or saved are out of scope. - Everything merges by pull request, passes automated checks (CI), and is reviewed and approved by the founder. Nothing goes to main directly. - Fixed price, milestone-based. Each milestone has written acceptance criteria; payment releases on acceptance. Detailed per-item specs are provided to shortlisted bidders after NDA. - Timeline expectation: Phase 1 completes within 6-8 weeks; our first customer go-live depends on it. WHAT WE LOOK FOR - Shipped Office add-ins (Excel strongly preferred): links to AppSource listings you published and what your team did. - Microsoft Partner Center experience (AppSource or marketplace validation/publishing). - .NET 8 / C# and React/TypeScript production experience; Azure and Entra. - Microsoft Fabric experience (workloads, OneLake, Fabric SQL/Warehouse) is a strong plus; Power BI counts as adjacent. - The NAMED people who would work on this account (seniority, location, timezone overlap with US Eastern), and whether they are dedicated or shared. - Two references for products you built that are still running in production. ANSWER ADDITIONAL QUESTIONS TO THE SCREENING QUESTIONS: 6. Give your milestone plan and price breakdown for Phases 1-5 as scoped above.
