Professional Writer & Editor — Research, Content & Page Development
Worldwide
We are looking for an experienced professional writer and editor with strong research skills to assist with a specialized content project involving the development and refinement of an existing informational page. This project requires someone who can work within strict editorial, factual, and platform-specific requirements while producing clear, neutral, well-researched content. Because of the nature of the project and the applicable publishing requirements, we cannot provide all of the details publicly in this job post. The specific context, subject, existing material, and requirements will be discussed privately with suitable candidates. What the Project Involves The primary task is to research a specific subject and help develop or improve a complete informational page. This may involve: Conducting extensive research into the subject and its broader niche. Reviewing existing content and identifying areas that require improvement. Rewriting or editing existing material where appropriate. Identifying factual gaps, inconsistencies, outdated information, or unclear explanations. Researching reliable and independent sources. Organizing information into a logical and coherent structure. Ensuring that the content remains factual, neutral, and appropriately supported. Improving the overall clarity and readability of the page. Determining which information is relevant and useful to include. Removing unnecessary, promotional, speculative, or unsupported statements. Ensuring that the final content follows the applicable editorial and publishing requirements. A Research & Editing Project — Not Simple Content Writing This is not a conventional SEO writing assignment where the objective is simply to produce a certain number of words. We need someone who can understand a subject and explain it accurately without unnecessary promotional language or unsupported claims. In some cases, the most appropriate approach may be to work with existing material rather than writing everything from scratch. You may therefore be asked to: Rewrite existing content. Edit existing sections. Improve factual explanations. Restructure information. Expand areas that lack sufficient context. Remove redundant material. Improve neutrality and clarity. Research additional sources to support important statements. Develop new material where genuine information gaps exist. The goal is to produce a page that reads as a coherent, professionally researched source of information, rather than a collection of independently written sections. Working Within Editorial Restrictions The project has specific editorial and regulatory constraints that limit how certain subjects can be presented. Therefore, the writer needs to understand an important distinction: The objective is to explain the subject and the relevant facts clearly, not to promote it or rely on language that would create an inappropriate editorial framing. You will receive the relevant requirements privately. The successful candidate must be capable of working within those boundaries and making good editorial decisions about: What can appropriately be stated. How information should be presented. Which terminology is suitable. What requires additional sourcing. Which claims should be removed or rewritten. How to maintain an objective and informative tone. How to distinguish factual information from promotional language or interpretation. We are specifically looking for someone with the editorial judgment to work within these limitations without compromising the quality or usefulness of the information. Deep Research Is Essential The writer will need to conduct substantial research before making significant changes to the content. Research may include: Reviewing authoritative sources. Examining independent publications. Comparing information across multiple sources. Reviewing historical information where relevant. Identifying reliable references for factual claims. Understanding the terminology used within the niche. Researching how the subject is described by credible third parties. Identifying information that may be outdated or inaccurate. Determining whether important claims can be adequately supported. We are not looking for someone who simply searches the subject, reads a few pages, and rewrites them. You should be able to evaluate information critically and determine what is appropriate to include in a professionally edited informational page. Existing Content May Be Provided A significant part of the project may involve editing and rewriting existing content. You may receive material that already contains useful information but requires substantial editorial improvement. For example, the existing content may need: Better organization. Clearer explanations. More neutral wording. Updated information. Improved sourcing. Removal of repetition. Correction of factual issues. Better transitions. Additional context. More precise terminology. The expectation is not necessarily to replace everything. A good editor should be able to identify what is worth preserving, what should be rewritten, and what should be removed. Complete Page Ownership This is an entire-page assignment, not a small section-writing task. The successful candidate should be capable of reviewing the page as a whole and understanding how every part contributes to the final result. You will not simply be assigned one paragraph or one isolated section. The work may require you to: Understand the subject. Research the niche. Review the existing material. Identify weaknesses and information gaps. Develop recommendations. Rewrite or develop the necessary content. Edit the entire page for consistency. Review the final version against the applicable requirements. The finished page should have a consistent voice, structure, and editorial approach from beginning to end. The Ideal Candidate We are particularly interested in writers and editors who have experience with: Research-driven writing. Professional editing. Long-form informational content. SEO and search research. Content rewriting. Fact-checking. Specialized or technical niches. Digital publishing. Wikipedia-style or encyclopedic writing principles. Neutral and objective content. Working with strict editorial guidelines. Experience with Wikipedia or similar editorial environments is highly valuable, but the most important requirement is the ability to research, evaluate, edit, and present information objectively. What We Do Not Want We are not looking for: Generic AI-generated articles. Basic content rewriting. Keyword stuffing. Promotional copy. Marketing language disguised as informational content. Unsupported claims. Content copied from other websites. Superficial research. Writers who need every sentence dictated to them. Someone interested only in reaching a word count. The final material needs to demonstrate research, judgment, and genuine editorial work. Application When applying, please provide: A brief description of your writing and editing experience. Examples of research-heavy or informational content you have produced. Examples of rewriting or editing existing content, if available. Your experience working with strict editorial requirements. Your experience with SEO/search research, if applicable. Your availability. Your expected turnaround time for a complete page. Your preferred rate. Please send relevant samples rather than a large collection of unrelated work. The specific subject, existing page/content, applicable requirements, and additional project information will be provided privately to candidates whose experience appears to be a strong match. We are looking for someone who can approach this as a serious research and editorial assignment and who is comfortable taking responsibility for the quality of an entire page from research through final editing.
