Programmatic Developer for Dynamic Location Pages (Yelp/Travelocity-Style)

We are building dynamic, location-based pages for a moving marketplace. Essentially, our website gives users quotes for moving companies to move them from one home to another. I’m looking for a senior engineer who has built large-scale, location-based dynamic URL page systems—similar in structure to platforms like Yelp, Zillow, or travel sites such as Hotels.com or Travelocity. The goal is to build a scalable programmatic engine that can generate and rank thousands of location-based pages. Example queries we are targeting: “best movers in Tallahassee, FL” “moving companies in Austin, TX” “movers near Denver” We want to create pages at scale that are: Indexable Non-thin Structured to rank What You’ll Be Responsible For: Designing dynamic URL architecture (e.g., /movers-in-city-state) Building a scalable page generation system (hundreds thousands of pages) Structuring content templates that will avoid thin/duplicate content issues Implementing internal linking across location pages Setting up schemas that will allow our site to be easily accessed & digested Managing indexation strategy (sitemaps, canonical tags, crawl control) Advising on data structure to make each page genuinely useful Requirements: You have built programmatic SEO pages at scale that currently rank You understand how Google evaluates large sets of location pages You can speak to tradeoffs between templated vs. unique content You have worked on marketplace, directory, or travel-style architectures Strong Preference: Experience working on or contributing to systems comparable to Yelp, Zillow, Expedia, Hotels.com, Travelocity, or similar large-scale directory platforms (Note: You do NOT need to have been an employee at these companies, but your work should be at a similar level of scale and complexity.) What I Care About: Pages that actually rank Clean, scalable architecture Long-term flexibility as we layer in real data (reviews, pricing, etc.) Please include: Links to examples of location-based or programmatic SEO pages you’ve built A short explanation of: How the pages are generated How you avoided duplicate/thin content How internal linking is handled If you’ve worked on a system comparable to Yelp/Travel sites, explain your role specifically What you would do differently if you rebuilt that system today If you’re the right fit, this will turn into ongoing work as we scale aggressively.
