Project Brief – Creative Native English Book Editor & Rewriter (Trading Cards Industry)

Posted 2 days ago

Summary

Project Overview I am looking for a native English writer (US or UK English) with exceptional creative writing and editing skills to rewrite and elevate an existing nonfiction book. The book is approximately 15,000 words and covers the global trading card industry, including sports cards, Pokémon, TCGs, collectibles, investing, collecting, grading, market trends, psychology, and the business behind trading cards. This is not a ghostwriting project from scratch. The structure, ideas, research, and overall message already exist. What I need is someone who can transform the writing into something that reads naturally, flows beautifully, and feels like it was written by a talented native English author. What I Need Your job is to rewrite the manuscript while preserving: The original meaning and key ideas. The energy and enthusiasm throughout the book. A direct, pragmatic, and engaging tone. Informal but professional language. Strong storytelling where appropriate. Smooth transitions between sections. Natural rhythm and readability. The final manuscript should feel authentic, compelling, and enjoyable to read—not robotic, repetitive, or overly formal. Writing Style I'm looking for a style that is: Conversational Confident Energetic Direct Modern Fun to read Persuasive without sounding like sales copy Similar to a successful business or investing book that keeps readers engaged from beginning to end. Requirements Native English speaker (US or UK only). Proven experience writing or editing nonfiction books. Excellent command of tone, pacing, and storytelling. Able to improve clarity without changing the author's intent. Comfortable working with finance, investing, collectibles, or business-related topics. Able to identify awkward sentences and rewrite them naturally. Important Please do not simply paraphrase sentence by sentence. I'm looking for someone who can genuinely improve the writing while respecting the original ideas and voice. If a chapter can be made significantly better by restructuring paragraphs, improving flow, or strengthening the narrative, I encourage you to do so—as long as the message remains intact. The goal is a manuscript that feels cohesive, engaging, and professionally written from beginning to end. When Applying Please include: Relevant examples of nonfiction books you've written or edited. Your experience with business, investing, collectibles, or similar topics. Whether you write in US English or UK English. Your estimated turnaround time for a 15,000-word manuscript. Your fixed-price quote for the complete project. If you have experience transforming rough or heavily edited manuscripts into polished, publication-quality books, I'd love to hear from you.
