Project Engineer Junior PM

We are seeking a junior project engineer to support project management activities for engineering projects. You will help coordinate timelines, track progress, and ensure deliverables are completed on schedule. The ideal candidate is organized, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Experience supporting engineering projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams is important. Job Title: Construction Project Engineer – Commercial & Residential (Ongoing) Category: Construction / Project Management Job Description: We're looking for a Construction Project Engineer to support our Project Management team on an ongoing basis. This role works closely with our PM and estimators to keep projects organized and moving — handling submittals, RFIs, change orders, and documentation so our PM can stay focused on schedule and field coordination. Responsibilities: Prepare, track, and submit submittals and RFIs Draft and process change orders Maintain project documentation (contracts, plans, specs, correspondence) Assist with scheduling, procurement, and material tracking Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors on documentation and logistics Support estimators with take-offs or scope clarification as needed Help ensure projects stay compliant with plans/specs and contract requirements Communicate regularly with PM on project status and outstanding items Requirements: Experience in construction (commercial and/or residential) — project engineer, assistant PM, or similar role preferred Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Comfortable managing submittals, RFIs, and change order paperwork Good written communication for coordinating with subs, GCs, and vendors Familiarity with construction management software (Procore, Buildertrend, or similar) a plus Self-motivated and able to manage multiple projects/deadlines at once Nice to Have: Exterior/envelope trade experience (siding, framing, flashing, roofing) Background supporting estimators or working from take-offs Engagement Type: Ongoing, long-term position (part-time to start, with potential to scale)
