Public Domain Image Researcher — Documentary Video Series
Worldwide
We are a video production company working on a documentary-style series featuring historical figures. We have compiled a list of historical photographs sourced primarily from Wikimedia Commons and other public archives, and we need a researcher to verify that each image is genuinely and verifiably in the public domain. **What You'll Do** - Cross-reference our existing image list against a master documentation sheet - For each image, verify its public domain status and locate a direct, primary source link (LOC, NARA, newspapers.com, U.S. Copyright Office records, etc.) - Populate the sheet with the source URL, publication details, author/photographer, date, and a brief public domain justification - Flag anything that cannot be clearly verified — we will handle replacements on our end **Ideal Candidate** - Strong research skills and high attention to detail - Background in history, library science, or a research-heavy field - Comfortable digging through online archives and government databases - Detail-oriented and thorough — someone who flags uncertainty rather than papers over it - Fluent in English (American English preferred) - Comfortable working in Google Docs and Google Sheets **Project Details** - Scope: 13 historical figures, ~80 images total - Deliverable: Completed master documentation sheet in Google Docs (template provided) - Deadline: June 29 - June 30 - Budget: $250 To apply, please share relevant experience with research or fact-checking and include an example of similar work if available.
