Summary

Research Analyst – Government-Funded Housing & Kitchen Cabinetry Procurement We are a national manufacturing trade association seeking a sharp, detail-oriented research analyst to identify active and upcoming government-funded residential housing projects across all Canadian provinces**. The objective is to track where public tax dollars are flowing into housing developments and audit the procurement path for **kitchen cabinetry only**. This role is strictly focused on **residential housing projects** and **kitchen cabinetry procurement**. It does **not** include general architectural millwork, commercial millwork, reception desks, wall panels, or non-housing construction. Key Responsibilities 1. National Grant & Housing Project Tracking Monitor housing project announcements, funding allocations, public land developments, and construction activity across **all Canadian provinces**, including: * British Columbia * Alberta * Saskatchewan * Manitoba * Ontario * Quebec * New Brunswick * Nova Scotia * Prince Edward Island * Newfoundland and Labrador Primary sources to monitor include: * Build Canada Homes * Housing, Infrastructure and Communities Canada * CMHC * Provincial housing agencies * Provincial infrastructure agencies * Municipal housing departments * Municipal council and planning documents * Public land development announcements Track funding programs such as: * Apartment Construction Loan Program * Affordable Housing Fund * Canada Housing Infrastructure Fund * Build Communities Strong Fund * Modular, prefabricated, affordable, supportive, seniors, student, and public-land housing projects 2. Tender & Kitchen Cabinetry Procurement Matching Cross-reference project names, addresses, developers, municipalities, and funding recipients against public and commercial bidding platforms, including: * MERX * Biddingo * ConstructConnect * DataBid * BC Bid * Provincial tender portals * Municipal procurement portals * Public electronic plan rooms The focus is to identify active, upcoming, or recently closed tenders related specifically to kitchen cabinetry supply and installation** for residential housing projects. Relevant search terms may include: * Kitchen cabinetry * Residential cabinetry * Cabinet supply * Cabinet installation * Kitchen cabinets * Suite kitchens * Apartment kitchens * Modular housing kitchens * Multi-residential kitchen cabinets This role should not track unrelated architectural millwork unless it directly includes residential kitchen cabinetry. ### 3. Kitchen Cabinetry Specification Audit Review architectural PDF bid documents, tender packages, specifications, addenda, drawings, suite finish schedules, and kitchen layouts. Determine: * Whether kitchen cabinetry is included in the tender scope * Whether cabinetry is being tendered separately or through the general contractor * Whether cabinetry is being supplied domestically or potentially through offshore/import channels * Whether Canadian/local standards are required * Whether AWMAC, local fabrication, or other quality requirements apply * Whether the specification permits uncertified or foreign-manufactured cabinetry Flag any tender language that appears to allow imported kitchen cabinetry on publicly funded housing projects. 4. Google Sheets Database & Bi-Weekly Updates Maintain a clean, shared Google Sheets database updated **every two weeks**. The database should capture: * Province * Municipality * Project name * Project address * Housing type * Number of units * Funding entity * Funding program * Public funding amount * Owner / developer * General contractor * Architect * Tender platform * Tender status * Kitchen cabinetry procurement status * Cabinetry supplier, if known * Cabinetry tender closing date * Specification notes * Domestic / import risk flag * Source links * Date last reviewed * Next follow-up date Each bi-weekly update should clearly identify: * New projects added * Existing projects updated * Tenders opened * Tenders closed * Cabinetry procurement findings * Projects requiring follow-up ## Required Experience * Proven experience in Canadian OSINT, public procurement research, legal research, construction tender tracking, or commercial real estate research * Strong familiarity with Canadian federal, provincial, and municipal housing funding programs * Experience navigating public procurement portals, construction tender platforms, and electronic plan rooms * Comfort reviewing architectural drawings, housing specifications, finish schedules, tender addenda, and RFP documents * Ability to identify kitchen cabinetry scope within larger residential construction packages * Strong Google Sheets, data-mapping, and source-tracking skills * High attention to detail and ability to work independently ## Project Structure This is an ongoing, milestone-based flat-rate research project. The successful applicant will be expected to provide a complete Google Sheets tracker and update it on a **bi-weekly basis**. Applicants should submit: * Expected flat-rate pricing * Proposed bi-weekly update rate * Examples of similar research or procurement tracking work * Relevant experience with Canadian housing tenders, public funding programs, or cabinetry procurement research
