Summary

We are looking for an experienced Python and blockchain developer to review, troubleshoot, and improve an existing cryptocurrency arbitrage trading bot. The bot is designed to identify price differences between cryptocurrency exchanges, buy an asset on the lower-priced exchange, transfer or hedge the position, and sell it on the higher-priced exchange. The current system is functional but has several reliability, execution, and profitability issues that need to be identified and resolved. Responsibilities Review the existing Python codebase and system architecture. Diagnose issues affecting trade execution, profitability, speed, and reliability. Improve exchange API integrations using REST APIs and WebSockets. Verify order-book data, balances, fees, and available liquidity before executing trades. Improve order placement, order monitoring, cancellation, and retry logic. Handle partial fills, rejected orders, API timeouts, rate limits, and exchange outages. Implement accurate profit calculations that include all trading, withdrawal, network, and conversion fees. Improve logging, monitoring, alerts, and error reporting. Implement risk controls, trade limits, and emergency shutdown mechanisms. Securely manage exchange API keys and sensitive configuration. Test the bot using simulations, paper trading, and controlled live trading. Document identified problems, proposed solutions, and completed changes. Required Skills Strong Python development experience. Experience building automated trading systems or crypto trading bots. Experience integrating centralized exchange APIs. Strong understanding of REST APIs, WebSockets, asynchronous programming, and concurrency. Knowledge of order books, market orders, limit orders, slippage, spreads, and liquidity. Understanding of cryptocurrency deposits, withdrawals, confirmations, and blockchain networks. Experience with databases, logging systems, monitoring, and automated testing. Strong debugging and system-design skills. Understanding of secure API-key and credential management. Preferred Skills Experience with libraries such as CCXT, AsyncIO, Pandas, NumPy, Redis, PostgreSQL, or similar technologies. Experience with Docker, Linux servers, cloud deployment, and CI/CD. Experience with paper-trading environments and backtesting. Familiarity with smart contracts, decentralized exchanges, cross-chain bridges, and on-chain arbitrage. Knowledge of exchange-specific rules, minimum order sizes, precision requirements, and withdrawal restrictions. Expected Deliverables A technical audit of the current bot. A prioritized list of bugs, risks, and performance problems. Recommendations for improving the architecture. Fixes for agreed high-priority issues. Automated tests for critical trading logic. Improved monitoring and error handling. Documentation covering deployment, configuration, and safe operation. Candidate Application Requirements Please include: Examples of trading bots or exchange integrations you have built. The exchanges and APIs you have previously worked with. Your experience with asynchronous Python and WebSockets. A description of how you would test an arbitrage bot safely. Your availability and estimated approach to the initial technical audit. Candidates may be asked to complete a paid technical assessment using a simplified or simulated trading environment. Production API keys and withdrawal permissions will not be provided during the assessment.
