What You’ll Be Doing: Having grown substantially in the last two years with no sign of slowing down, we are looking for a Quality Control Contractor, Music Publishing who can learn how to navigate the business on its exciting journey and successfully support our team, as well as the challenges this presents. Our ideal candidate will want to help take BeatStars Publishing to the next level and support our overall quality control in Publishing to help register producer’s tracks as quickly and as accurately as possible. Responsibilities: Review and QC tracks submitted by our Publishing members that meet our standards of approval and rejection where applicable while meeting an established quota per day to keep queues as low as possible to ensure timely registrations Research and report how tracks that are registered by our members are performing on major streaming platforms in our QC tracker and Slack Channels Learn how to understand the track registration process from Under Review to Submission to our partner Sony Music Publishing Discover producers and artists that are on top-performing tracks and present these findings to the team as potential signees at large Help monitor track submissions for usage of Content ID onto User Generated Content platforms to detect and prevent suspicious activity from happening on the platform Alert team of any technical issues that may occur in the day as well as any hesitations about questionable shares and splits to prevent erroneous claims Attend various department meetings and company functions where applicable. What You’ll Need: Common knowledge of pop culture Sound judgment and aptitude in decision-making and problem-solving Currently enrolled at an accredited university studying a BS/BA in Music Business/Industry, or a relevant field Time management, organizational, and communication skills Ability to collaborate and work with a team as well as work independently in a virtual environment Demonstrated ability to articulate, present, and suggest solutions and ideas Bonus points for: Being a producer or musician Current member of the BeatStars community Publishing, Marketplace, College Rep Prior experience at a PRO or Collection Agency This role might be for you if: Hungry to learn the music tech industry You are a team player.
