Quick Patent Review

We're developing a compact retractable spooling device — one stationary cable end, one retractable end — adapted for optical glass-fiber cabling. Similar spooling technology already exists commercially for data cables, power lines, and hoses. We've identified a short list of close patents/products and need a professional to screen our infringement risk against them. Scope (a few hours): Review 3–4 specific patents + related products (provided after NDA) Flag which patents/claims pose the highest infringement risk to our intended design Rate each: low / medium / high Suggest design-around directions where relevant Advise whether a formal freedom-to-operate opinion is warranted Deliverable: Short written memo with per-patent risk ratings and reasoning. You: Patent paralegal, patent agent, or IP researcher with freedom-to-operate / infringement screening experience. Comfortable reading mechanical patent claims. EU + US familiarity a plus.
