Project Momentum Learning Engagement Platform (LEP) Request for Proposal (RFP) Version 0.1 1. Project Overview We are looking for an experienced Full Stack Developer or small development team to build the first version (MVP) of a Learning Engagement Platform. The objective is to create an engaging platform that encourages students to practise regularly through quizzes while allowing teachers and parents to monitor progress. The MVP should be designed so additional modules can be added over time without requiring a major redesign. This is intended to be the foundation of a long-term educational platform. 2. Primary Goal The MVP should deliver a high-quality quiz platform similar in user experience to Kahoot, but developed as our own product. The system should support: • Students • Teachers • • Parents Administrators The platform must be responsive and work well on desktop, tablet and mobile devices. A Progressive Web App (PWA) is preferred over native Android/iOS applications. 3. MVP Features A. Student Dashboard Students should be able to: • View recommended quizzes • View quiz history • View scores • View ranking • View progress • View learning streak (optional) C. Quiz Engine (Highest Priority) The quiz engine is the core feature. Requirements: • • Multiple choice questions Timed quizzes • Question timer • Instant feedback • Score calculation • • Leaderboard Quiz summary • Review incorrect answers D. Question Repository The platform must contain a central question repository. Questions should be reusable across: • Quizzes • • • 2 Future Flashcards Future Tests Future Games Each question should contain: • Question ID • Subject • Topic • • Difficulty Question • Options • Correct Answer • • Explanation Tags E. Teacher Portal Teachers should be able to: • Create questions • • Edit questions Organise questions by topic • Create quizzes • Assign quizzes • View student performance • View class analytics F. Parent Portal Parents should be able to: • View their child's progress • View quiz history • View scores • View weak topics • Receive notifications (future-ready) G. Administrator Portal Administrators should be able to: • Create users • • Manage batches Assign teachers • Manage permissions • Manage question repository • View reports 3 H. Reporting The platform should provide dashboards for: Student Teacher Administrator Reports should include: • Quiz performance • Topic performance • Student ranking • Quiz completion • Progress over time 4. Future Features (Not Required for MVP) These should not be built immediately but the architecture should support them. • Flashcards • Practice Tests • Pinterest-style Sketch Community • Teacher Sketch Review • • • Hall of Fame Learning Games AI Tutor • Adaptive Learning • Gamification • • Rewards Multi-institute support 5. Technical Expectations Preferred technologies (open to recommendations): Frontend • • • React Next.js TypeScript 4 Backend • .NET • • Node.js Django Database • Cloud • PostgreSQL AWS • Azure The developer may recommend alternatives with justification. 6. Deliverables The successful freelancer should deliver: • Complete source code • • Database schema API documentation • • Deployment guide Installation guide • • User documentation Test environment • Production deployment support 7. Estimated Project Size We estimate: • 8–12 weeks for MVP • 500–800 development hours (estimate only) Developers are encouraged to propose a more accurate estimate after reviewing the requirements. 10. Important Notes The Quiz Engine is the highest priority. The platform should be architected so future modules can be added without redesigning the system. We are looking for a developer interested in a long-term relationship rather than simply delivering a one-time project. 6
