React Native driver app — UI/UX polish + graphics (Android, 1 week)

QuickPickups is a Barcelona airport-transfer operator. Our Android driver app (React Native) is how our drivers see ride offers, accept jobs, run the ride step-by-step, collect payment, and track invoices. The app is feature-complete and already connected to our live production backend — we are NOT building from scratch and there is NO backend work. We need one experienced React Native developer/designer to make it look and feel like a real product and deliver proper app graphics, in a focused 1-week fixed engagement. Immediate start. WHAT'S ALREADY DONE (you are not starting from zero): - Backend in production (Django REST + JWT), out of scope for you. - Functional MVP wired to real APIs: login, ride offers/market, full ride flow with GPS, payments/cash logic, invoices, profile, vehicle, onboarding. - A "gold" brand + a starter design-token file. i18n ES/EN. Signed release build already configured (ProGuard on, cleartext off). - A prior internal audit doc we'll hand you as a punch-list. STACK: - React Native 0.82 — New Architecture / Fabric (bare, NOT Expo), TypeScript - react 19.1.1 EXACT (strict RN 0.82 peer dep — do not bump) - Redux + Redux-Saga, React Navigation, react-i18next - Android: targetSdk 36, minSdk 24, ProGuard on. Package com.quickpickups. You must be comfortable with bare RN release builds (Gradle, autolinking, ProGuard, signed AAB). Expo-only experience is not a fit. SCOPE (1 week): 1) UI/UX polish (your main job) — extend the existing design tokens: consistency sweep (spacing, type, buttons, iconography; replace emoji-as-icons with a real icon set; migrate remaining screens off the legacy palette). Fix dark mode where surfaces break. Make loading/empty/error states consistent. The Active Ride screen (drivers stare at it for hours in a car mount) must be glanceable, sunlight-readable, with a big next-action button. Basic accessibility (44dp targets, AA contrast) and EN/ES overflow check. 2) App graphics — a proper adaptive app icon + splash (current icon is a placeholder), plus store graphics: feature graphic (1024x500) and 4-8 phone screenshots. 3) Light publishing help (bonus) — help get it store-ready and upload a signed AAB to testing. We own the Play account, keystore and Firebase, so you never handle our credentials. NOT IN SCOPE: No backend/API work. No pricing/payments/business-rule changes. No iOS. No production secrets. DELIVERABLES: polished, consistent UI (dark mode correct, states covered, a11y basics); app icon + splash + store graphics (source + exported); a signed release AAB that builds from a clean clone; short handover note. Work via feature branches + pull requests (no direct pushes to main). DEADLINE & BUDGET: ~1 week, fixed price 500 EUR, immediate start. WHAT WE PROVIDE: private repo access, API base URL + staging .env, test driver credentials, the prior audit doc and draft store listing texts, and fast feedback. Keystore / Firebase / Play account stay with us.
