Project Overview: We are seeking an experienced database professional to rebuild and modernize a complex, homegrown Microsoft Access database that supports critical operations. The system has evolved over time and is now inefficient but essential. It contains sensitive data, so accuracy, structure, and data integrity are critical. We're looking for someone who can translate business needs into a clean, scalable, and intuitive solution—not just replicate what exists. ________________________________________ Scope of Work: • Redesign database structure (normalized, scalable) • Rebuild all tables, relationships, queries, forms, and reports • Improve usability, workflows, and performance • Configure multi-user environment (split front-end/back-end) • Implement fiscal year functionality with annual archiving • Ensure ease of use for non-technical users • Create a clear training/manual guide ________________________________________ Deliverables: • Fully rebuilt and tested Access database • Stable multi-user setup • Fiscal year + archiving functionality • Documentation/manual + short-term support ________________________________________ Required Skills: • Advanced Microsoft Access (forms, reports, VBA) • Strong SQL and relational database design • Experience with complex/legacy databases • Multi-user environment experience • Strong communication and documentation skills ________________________________________ Budget & Structure: Target budget: $4,000 – $8,000, depending on experience and approach.
