Reddit Community Manager
Worldwide
Hey — we're a small health/wellness brand and we're building out our presence on Reddit as one of our main channels. Looking for someone who actually knows Reddit, not a general "social media person" who'll treat it like Instagram. Here's the thing we care about most: we want someone who can build community two ways at once. One is around the topic/niche itself — being genuinely useful in the wider conversation, showing up in the right threads, understanding what people in this space actually talk about and worry about. The other is around our brand specifically — running our own subreddit, making it a place people want to be, turning it into something that supports the business. Both matter. If you only know how to do brand cheerleading, or only know how to lurk in big subs, this probably isn't the fit. What you'd be doing: - Setting up and running our subreddit (structure, rules, content, the whole thing) - Actually replying to people — fast. We care a lot about not leaving posts sitting there ignored - Creating content and the visuals to go with it (we don't want to wait on a designer for every post) - Keeping an eye on competitor subreddits and the broader niche, and telling us what you're seeing - Helping us think through promos/campaigns and then running them - You get the whole ownership of the subreddit: you define the strategy, you test hypotheses, you execute the changes, you propose what to do - You will work with other subreddits to attract more users: cross-promotions, AMA, etc. What we're looking for: - You have a real Reddit account with history. Send it. We want to see how you talk to people, not a deck - You've grown or managed a subreddit or community before (send links if you can) - You get Reddit culture — you know why people here hate obvious marketing, and you know transparency is the only thing that works - Bonus if you've worked with a wellness or health brand before, or at least understand that some niches need a careful hand How this works: we'd start small and paid — a first project to set up the page and put together a strategy. If that goes well and we're on the same page, we move to an ongoing monthly arrangement. Basically the first bit is a paid trial for both of us. If you're interested, tell us a bit about communities you've built (topic-based, brand-based, ideally both), drop your Reddit profile, and roughly what you'd charge monthly. Short and real is better than a long polished pitch.
