Registered Auditor / Audit Manager (Statutory Audit)

About the role A chartered accountancy and advisory firm is building a statutory audit capability and is looking for an experienced auditor to help lead it. A key part of the work is auditing a large faith-based charity: a national network of churches operating across England and Wales, with income of around £18 million, multiple sites and staff, and accounts prepared under FRS 102 and the Charities SORP. You will run full statutory audits from planning through to completion and signing, and work directly with the firm's partner. What you will do Plan and run statutory audits end to end, covering risk assessment, fieldwork and completion. Prepare and review audit files and financial statements under FRS 102 and the Charities SORP. Act as, or work towards acting as, the Responsible Individual who signs the audit opinion. Manage client relationships and supervise junior staff on engagements. Keep audit work fully compliant with ISAs (UK) and the requirements of the supervisory body. What we are looking for ACA or ACCA qualified, with a UK audit qualification. Registered Auditor or Responsible Individual status, or eligibility and readiness to obtain it. Solid experience running statutory audits end to end, not just sections of a file. Charity and SORP audit experience, ideally in the faith or not-for-profit sector. Someone who works to a high standard of accuracy and can own an engagement without being chased.
