Remote Automotive Diagnostics Specialist

We’re looking for an experienced Automotive Diagnostics Specialist to provide remote technical diagnostic support for commercial vehicles. This is a hands-on technical role for someone who is highly experienced in vehicle diagnostics, electrical systems, fault-code analysis, telematics, and systematic troubleshooting. You’ll remotely analyze vehicle issues, determine probable root causes, recommend corrective actions, and help our service team determine whether an issue can be resolved remotely or requires an onsite technician. Typical Day of work: • Review incoming vehicle service and diagnostic requests. • Perform remote diagnostics using vehicle telematics, diagnostic software, fault codes, vehicle data, service history, and technical documentation. • Analyze available diagnostic data to determine probable root causes of vehicle issues. • Recommend appropriate repairs and identify parts that may be required. • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, software, and communication-related vehicle issues remotely. • Determine whether vehicle issues can be resolved remotely or require onsite field service. • Communicate with customers when appropriate to remotely troubleshoot and resolve vehicle issues. • Collaborate with field technicians to diagnose problems and help successfully close service tickets. • Escalate complex or unresolved technical issues when necessary. • Identify recurring vehicle, component, software, or system issues and communicate technical trends to the appropriate teams. • Clearly document diagnostic findings, troubleshooting performed, probable root causes, and recommended corrective actions. • Help develop and improve diagnostic procedures, troubleshooting documentation, and technical resources. What we want: • 3+ years of professional vehicle diagnostic experience. • Experience working with automotive, commercial vehicles, heavy equipment, electric vehicles, or similar electrical and mechanical systems. • Strong understanding of low-voltage (LV) and high-voltage (HV) electrical systems. • Strong understanding of CAN communication / CAN bus systems. • Experience with vehicle diagnostics and systematic troubleshooting methodologies. • Experience interpreting fault codes and diagnostic data. • Experience reading and troubleshooting from vehicle wiring diagrams. • Experience working with vehicle telematics data. • Experience using diagnostic software and tools. • Experience working with service manuals and technical documentation. • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to accurately identify root causes. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to work independently and manage multiple diagnostic requests simultaneously.
