Remote Patient Care Coordinator

We are a growing, independently owned optometry and optical practice in Brooklyn, NY. Our mission is to provide exceptional patient care while creating an outstanding patient experience. As our practice continues to grow, we're looking for a highly organized, dependable, and proactive Remote Patient Care Coordinator to support our daily operations. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys coordinating patient care, solving problems, and keeping a busy medical practice running efficiently. Schedule Monday – Friday: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (Eastern Time) Every other Sunday: 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM (anticipated as the practice expands) When scheduled on Sunday, a weekday off will be provided. Occasional Saturday coverage may be requested. Responsibilities Appointment & Schedule Management Review provider schedules to help maintain daily productivity goals. Confirm upcoming appointments. Fill last-minute cancellations. Optimize provider schedules by moving appointments when appropriate. Prepare the daily morning huddle template. Patient Coordination Contact patients to schedule recommended follow-up appointments. Ensure patients are scheduled with the appropriate provider. Reschedule appointments when provider schedules change. Communicate professionally with patients regarding appointments and care. Pharmacy & Insurance Support Coordinate prescription requests with pharmacies. Follow up on prescription status. Assist with prior authorization requests and documentation. Keep patients informed throughout the process. Contact Lens Coordination Place contact lens orders. Track order status. Communicate updates to patients. Administrative Support Answer incoming phone calls and assist patients. Support the front office remotely throughout the day. Assist with miscellaneous administrative and operational projects. Qualifications Excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. Outstanding customer service skills. Comfortable learning new technology and software. Medical office, scheduling, or optometry experience is preferred but not required.
