Summary

3D Render / Layered PNG Export for Boat Configurator (Single-Model Test) Overview We're building an interactive "build your boat" configurator for a custom boat manufacturer. Buyers pick options (hull color, engine, hardtop, etc.) and a live side-profile preview of the boat updates as they choose. The preview works by stacking transparent PNG layers on top of each other. We have the CAD file for the boat. We need someone to open it, set up a fixed-camera scene, and export each option as its own transparent PNG layer. **This is a registration-critical job.** Every layer must be rendered from the exact same locked camera at the exact same canvas size, so the layers stack pixel-perfect when composited in the browser. If the layers don't line up perfectly, they're unusable. Please read the registration requirement below carefully before applying — it's the whole job. **Scope:** This contract is for **one boat model**. We have three models total and will be scoping the other two as follow-on work — but we're starting with one to get the pipeline and the working relationship right. Do this one well and there's more. What we need One **side-profile** view of the model, broken into separate transparent PNG layers: 1. **Base hull** — the bare boat body in side profile (one soft contact shadow lives on this layer only; see specs). 2. **Hull color variants** — the hull rendered in each available color, side profile. One PNG per color. **[LIST COLORS]** 3. **Hardtop / top** — rendered as its own layer (on/off), and per color if the top has color options. **[CONFIRM TOP OPTIONS]** 4. **Any other structural option that is visibly present in the CAD and changes the side profile** — e.g. leaning post, poling platform. **[LIST — or "none for v1"]** Only options that are **visible in the side profile** get a layer. Color and trim choices that don't change the side view (electronics, flooring, trailer, chargers, etc.) are handled as price-only in the form and are **not** part of this job — don't render them. **Engines:** Confirm whether the CAD file includes engine geometry. - If **yes** — render one transparent PNG per engine model, from the same locked camera. - If **no** — leave engines out, but on the base hull layer mark the exact transom mounting point (pixel coordinates or a visible registration crosshair on a separate reference export) so we can composite manufacturer engine art into the same position ourselves. ## THE REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT (read this) This is non-negotiable and it's why we're hiring carefully: - **One scene, one locked camera.** The camera does not move between renders. Not even slightly. - **Every layer exports at the identical canvas size and identical pixel dimensions.** A hull-color layer and the hardtop layer and the base must all drop onto the same canvas and align perfectly with zero nudging. - The boat sits in the **identical position** in every single export. - You render each option by toggling its visibility in the same locked scene and exporting — you do **not** re-frame, re-crop, or re-center per option. If you composite all your delivered layers in Photoshop, every layer must line up perfectly on top of the base with no manual adjustment. That's the acceptance test. ## Output specs - **Format:** PNG-24 with full alpha transparency - **Background:** fully transparent (no white, no checkerboard baked in) - **Resolution:** render at **3000px on the longest edge**, identical dimensions for every layer in the set - **Color space:** sRGB - **Shadows:** a single soft contact shadow on the **base hull layer only** (or delivered as its own separate bottom layer). Option layers must be shadow-free — we can't have stacked shadows compounding. - **No baked-in backgrounds, reflections under the boat beyond the contact shadow, or UI of any kind.** ## File naming (required) All lowercase, kebab-case, double-underscore between segments: `[model-slug]__[layer-type]__[variant].png` Examples: - `[model-slug]__hull__base.png` - `[model-slug]__hull__flag-blue.png` - `[model-slug]__hardtop__white.png` - `[model-slug]__engine__yamaha-f300.png` Consistent, predictable naming is part of acceptance — it wires directly into our build. ## Deliverables 1. All layered PNGs to spec, organized in one folder. 2. **The working render scene/source files** (Blender, KeyShot, Rhino render setup, etc.) so new color or option variants can be re-rendered later from the same locked camera without rebuilding the scene. This matters — we'll be adding options over time, and scoping two more models. 3. A flattened reference composite (all layers stacked) so we can confirm registration at a glance. ## To apply, include: 1. **Portfolio** showing product configurator work, layered render exports, or fixed-camera product visualization. Layered/configurator work is far more relevant than general 3D art. 2. **Confirm you can open [CAD FORMAT] files** and what software you'll use. 3. **In your own words, describe how you'll guarantee registration across layers.** (We read this closely — it tells us whether you've done this before.) 4. **Your quote**, broken out as: base setup + base render, and per-additional-color-variant. We want to understand how cost scales as we add options — this also helps us scope the remaining two models. 5. **Timeline.** ## Budget / timeline **[FILL IN — or leave open and let quotes come in. For one model, side-profile-only, with a bounded color list, this is a defined, quotable job, not open-ended.]**
