Residential Designer- Chief Architect

Remote Freelance Chief Architect Designer- Architecture Focused We are looking for a skilled Chief Architect Designer to help with our growing design workload. You will work from home on a contract basis. You will turn ideas into complete, ready-to-permit residential construction drawings and return the native files to us. What You Will Do • Create full building plans for residential additions and home renovations. • Use our specific company software template and follow our blueprint examples. • Draw complete plan sets including floor plans, elevations, framing, and sections. • Design projects that adhere to the Michigan Residential Building Code. • Deliver the final, completed Chief Architect drawing files back to our team. What We Need • Expert skills in Chief Architect software. • Strong knowledge of residential construction and framing details. • Ability to build a full set of blueprints for building permits. • Proficient English writing & verbal skills • Ability to communicate with RDB team during Eastern Standard Time work hours. • Great communication skills and ability to meet fast deadlines. • Ownership of your own Chief Architect software license and computer. Education and Experience • Degree or formal education in Architecture is highly preferred. • Interior Designers are welcome to apply if you can create a full, technical set of architectural plans. Pay and Process • Compensation: Discussed at the interview and matches your skill level. • Our Team Handles: We take care of all final design changes and the building permit applications. RDB will also handle all client meetings. You are applying for a non client-facing position. Please be prepared to submit a resume and a portfolio of your design work.
