Residential Landscape Design & Planting Plan Project Overview Seeking a landscape designer to create a cohesive design for a residential front and backyard. The property includes a sloped backyard with a multi-level deck, stairs, and retaining walls. The landscape should complement the architecture and outdoor living spaces while remaining practical, drought-tolerant, and appropriate for Southern California. The desired aesthetic is inspired by contemporary Australian landscape design, featuring naturalistic plant groupings, sculptural focal plants, soft mounding grasses, and a relaxed but intentional feel. Design Goals * Create a cohesive landscape plan for both the front and backyard * Integrate the landscape with the new deck, stairs, some existing plants and hardscape * Prioritize drought-tolerant and low-maintenance planting * Create year-round visual interest through texture, form, and layering * Incorporate screening and privacy where appropriate * Balance clean architectural lines with softer naturalistic planting Inspiration & Reference Materials The selected designer will be provided with: * Site photographs * Deck and site plans * Inspiration images * Examples of preferred plants and landscape styles Scope of Work Milestone 1 - Initial Design Area Begin with one portion of the property, likely a section of the backyard, including: * Concept plan * Plant palette * Planting layout * Material recommendations Milestone 2 - Full Property Design Following approval of the initial concept, expand the design to the remainder of the property, including: * Front yard * Backyard planting areas * Areas surrounding the new deck and stairs Deliverables * Overall landscape concept plan * Planting plan with plant schedule * Recommended materials and finishes * Planting and installation guide * PDF presentation package suitable for contractor bidding and installation * 3D renderings of site with landscape design Please include examples of residential landscape projects with a similar design aesthetic.
