Retail Operations & Sales Support Specialist (Remote)

About the Opportunity We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Retail Operations & Sales Support Specialist to support a fast-growing consumer packaged goods (CPG) company in the pet industry. This role serves as the operational backbone of our retail business, ensuring flawless execution across item setup, pricing changes, retailer portals, promotions, content maintenance, and sample management for major retailers including Walmart, PetSmart, Petco, Tractor Supply, Meijer, HEB, PSP, and others. The ideal candidate thrives in Excel, enjoys solving problems independently, and takes pride in delivering highly accurate work across multiple systems and retailer platforms. This is a fully remote contractor position. ~What You'll Do~ - New Item Setup & Retailer Onboarding - Set up new products across 10+ retail partners and retailer portals Collect, validate, and manage required product information including: UPCs Item numbers MAP pricing Costs Dimensions Product copy Images Compliance documentation Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance to resolve information gaps Communicate with retail buyers when clarification or follow-up is required - Pricing & Cost Change Execution - Prepare and submit retailer pricing, MAP, and cost change forms Maintain retailer-specific pricing files and templates Verify margin calculations and promotional funding calculations Track submission status through implementation - Promotion & Retail Program Support - Submit retailer-specific promotions and events Complete required retailer forms and portal entries Calculate promotional funding allocations and retailer participation Maintain promotion trackers and status reporting - Item Maintenance & Retail Operations - Manage item updates including: Pack changes Dimension updates Product transitions Product retirements Monitor retailer implementation and execution Conduct retailer audits to ensure information is accurate and current - Sample Order Processing - Manage product sample requests through Shopify Coordinate fulfillment and shipment tracking Maintain sample tracking logs and reporting - Retail Content & Catalog Management - Maintain product content across retailer websites and PIM platforms Update: Images Product descriptions Product attributes Selling copy Conduct live-site versus portal audits Ensure retailer catalogs remain accurate and compliant - Tracker & Portal Management - Manage ongoing retailer trackers and master files Work across multiple retailer portals simultaneously Troubleshoot retailer submission issues independently Ensure deadlines are met and documentation is complete ~Required Qualifications~ ~Must-Have Skills~ - Advanced Excel Proficiency - You should be comfortable: Working with large multi-tab workbooks VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP INDEX/MATCH Pivot tables Data validation Conditional formatting Margin calculations Cost and pricing analysis This role heavily utilizes retailer pricing templates and master files. - Exceptional Attention to Detail - You naturally catch: Pricing discrepancies MAP errors Duplicate entries Incorrect retailer mappings Formula mistakes Missing documentation - Experience Working Across Multiple Systems - Experience with one or more: Shopify Retailer portals Walmart Retail Link Supplier portals PIM systems ERP systems Customer item management systems - Strong Written Communication - Ability to: Manage communication professionally Clearly identify issues and blockers Consolidate questions efficiently Follow up with internal teams and retailers - Independent Problem-Solving - You enjoy: Learning new retailer portals Navigating ambiguous situations Figuring things out without extensive direction Managing multiple priorities simultaneously - Preferred Experience - Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Grocery Pet industry Natural products Retail sales support Sales operations Category management support Customer development support - Experience supporting retailers such as: - Walmart PetSmart Petco Tractor Supply Meijer HEB PSP is highly desirable. - Success in This Role - Within your first few months, you will: Independently manage retailer submissions Maintain error-free pricing and item files Successfully coordinate sample orders Keep retailer content current and accurate Become a trusted operational partner to the sales team Fully remote Flexible schedule with availability during U.S. business hours
