Retail Packaging Design for Premium Home Décor Product — Box Dielines, Inserts & Print-Ready Files
Worldwide
I am looking for an experienced **retail packaging designer** to create premium packaging and in-box printed materials for a new home décor product range. This is primarily a **packaging design and print-production project**, not an interior design or 3D room rendering project. The product is a colourful, design-led, renter-friendly home décor kit made from precision-cut PET felt panels. The brand direction is premium, modern, warm, colourful, mid-century inspired, and retail-ready. The finished work needs to feel polished, commercially strong, and suitable for a premium consumer product launch. --- **Core Scope of Work** The main deliverables will include: 1. **Retail box design** * Design for the outer retail box using supplier/manufacturer dielines * Front, back, side, top and bottom panel artwork * Strong retail presence and clear product communication * Consistent visual system across multiple kit variations / SKUs 2. **In-box printed inserts** * Setup / installation guide * Quick-start card * Layout card or printed instruction sheet * Clear visual hierarchy and easy-to-follow customer instructions 3. **Print-ready production files** * Artwork prepared to supplier specifications * CMYK print-ready files * Bleed, safe areas, margins and dieline alignment * Editable source files * Exported PDFs suitable for manufacturer review and printing 4. **Packaging mockups** * Realistic mockups of the finished box and inserts for review and marketing use * These do not need to be interior room renders --- **Important: This Role Requires Packaging Experience** Please only apply if you have clear experience with: * Retail packaging design * Box artwork using dielines * Print-ready packaging files * Inserts, instruction cards, product guides or printed collateral * Strong typography and information hierarchy * Premium consumer product design * Preparing final files for manufacturers/printers Experience with home décor, interiors, lifestyle, furniture, beauty, wellness, or premium consumer goods would be useful. --- **This Is NOT Primarily a 3D Interior Design Role** Please do not apply if your main experience is only: * Interior room rendering * Architectural visualisation * 3D modelling * Furniture staging * General product mockups without packaging design * AI-generated room scenes Room/lifestyle visuals may be a later separate project, but this job is specifically for **packaging design, inserts and print-ready production artwork**. --- **What I Will Provide** I will provide: * Brand logo and brand direction * Product details and dimensions * Product colours * Draft copy/content for the box and inserts * Supplier/manufacturer dielines once available * Packaging dimensions * Reference images and design direction * Product layout information * Required SKUs / kit variations --- **What I Need From You** Please include the following in your proposal: 1. Relevant examples of **retail packaging design** 2. Examples of **box artwork using dielines** 3. Examples of **inserts, instruction cards, manuals or printed product guides** 4. Confirmation that you can supply **editable source files and print-ready CMYK files** 5. The software you use — Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop preferred 6. Your recommended process from concept to final production files 7. Your estimated timeline 8. Your fixed price or milestone-based pricing Please do not send only room renders or general 3D visuals. I need to see packaging-specific work. --- **Ideal Designer** The ideal designer will be able to balance: * Premium visual design * Commercial retail impact * Clear customer instructions * Strong typography * Colour confidence * Print-production accuracy * Practical manufacturer-ready artwork I am looking for someone who can think strategically, not just decorate a box. If you believe a direction will weaken the product or make it look less premium, I want you to be confident enough to explain why and suggest a stronger alternative. --- **Project Structure** I would prefer to work in milestones, for example: 1. Visual direction / packaging concept 2. Retail box artwork 3. Insert / instruction card design 4. Packaging mockups 5. Final print-ready files and editable source files Final milestone structure can be agreed before the project starts. --- **Please Start Your Proposal With: “PACKAGING FIRST”** This helps me confirm you have read the brief and understand that the core requirement is packaging design, not interior rendering.
