Summary

Redesign of our Website that sells Capes and Custom Super Hero Capes - Capes.com The goal is to turn it into a brand focused on confidence, imagination, and making people feel like heroes during important moments in life. The direction of the site should feel emotional, uplifting, colorful, and community-driven along with the custom aspect. The main objectives are: • Sell custom capes • Create a meaningful emotional connection with customers • Introduce a “Send a Hero Cape” concept for children staying at hospitals or partner organizations • Make customers feel personally connected to the experience • Build a brand people want to share socially (we will shoot lots of videos) Brand Direction: We do not want this to feel like a Halloween or party costume website. The tone should feel: • inspiring • empowering • playful • premium • heartfelt Think of the emotional feeling behind brands like Make-A-Wish or Senda Friend, mixed with the personalization aspect of Build-A-Bear. Homepage Ideas: 1. Main Hero Section Large emotional messaging such as: “Every Hero Needs a Cape” Primary buttons: • Design Your Cape (party designs and corporate design photos to show diversity) • Send a Hero Cape The visuals should focus on: • kids and families • empowering moments • colorful custom capes (with photos of ones we made. we can take them for photos before we ship) • emotional storytelling • fun but premium photography (in hospitals, corporate events, birthdays) 2. Custom Cape Builder This should be one of the core features of the site. Users should be able to: • pick colors • add names • add symbols or emblems • choose fonts • preview the cape live before ordering The experience should feel interactive and exciting. 3. “Send a Hero Cape” Experience We want to avoid making this feel like a generic donation page. Instead of using the word “donate,” the messaging should focus on: • sending a hero • passing on confidence • giving someone a hero moment Customers could sponsor capes that go to children staying at partner organizations such as Ronald McDonald Houses or hospitals. Potential functionality: • choose a cape style or theme • include an encouraging message • select age range or interests • participate in monthly “Hero Drops” 4. Community / Hero Wall A section of the site should highlight recent cape sends in a simple and tasteful way. Examples: • “Galaxy Hero Cape sent to Mia” • “Captain Strong Cape sent to Noah” No private or sensitive details — just enough to make the experience feel personal and real. This section should help build: • emotional connection • community • repeat engagement • social proof 5. Storytelling Section We want a dedicated area that explains the purpose behind the brand. The focus should be on: • bravery • confidence • imagination • kindness • helping people feel strong during difficult moments The messaging should explain that sometimes something as simple as a cape can help someone feel brave, confident, or special. 6. Product Categories Potential categories: • Custom Capes • Hero Capes • Matching Family Sets • Birthday Hero Kits • Recovery / Bravery Capes • Limited Edition Drops 7. Packaging Experience We want the unboxing experience to feel memorable and premium. Concept ideas: “Hero Activation Kit” Including: • the cape • stickers • personalized message Overall, the goal is to make Capes.com feel like a brand built around helping people feel strong and confident, not simply a place that sells costume capes.
