Reworking tattoo design

Summary

Went to an artist asking for a blackwork beetle with my dogs portrait as the abdomen. The dog part is fine, however the beetle is not the style I sent references of. Any suggestions on how to rework it to be closer to the references would be great as I dont hate it, but it is not the same style.
