Rive/Lottie Motion Designer for Runtime Animation
Worldwide
Please read this first: this is fundamentally a RUNTIME-CUSTOMIZATION job, not just an animation job. We need a short, premium animation whose colors and one image can be changed programmatically at runtime, and that ends fully transparent. A beautiful but "baked" animation that cannot be recolored or customized will not work for us. (We recently received a nice-looking first pass that could not be recolored, could not swap its seal image, and could not end transparent. That is exactly what we are trying to avoid.) What it is: a premium "reveal" for our digital invitation app. On a phone, the whole screen shows a sealed wax envelope, zoomed into the top flap with a wax seal on it. The user taps, the seal breaks, the flap opens, and a warm golden light bursts through. Our app then reveals the real invitation card underneath. RIVE is strongly preferred, because runtime-editable color, runtime-swappable images, and interactivity are native to it. We will consider Lottie ONLY if you can clearly show us prior work where colors and images were changed at runtime and the animation ended transparent. WHAT YOU'LL DELIVER - A portrait, full-screen animation, 1080 x 1920 px, about 2.5 to 3.5 seconds: a sealed wax envelope, the seal breaks, the flap opens, a warm golden light blooms out, and it ENDS FULLY TRANSPARENT. We composite the real card underneath, so do not include a card and do not leave any opaque background at the end. - Runtime-editable, all working reliably at runtime (this is the core of the job): 1. Envelope color: ONE input recolors the whole envelope (body, flap, pocket), with shading, texture, and highlights as overlays on top of the base color, so any color looks correct. 2. Wax color: a separate input. 3. Seal emblem: a swappable IMAGE we set at runtime (we provide it: a preset design, initials rendered to an image, or a user upload). Build it as ONE clean, swappable image slot on the wax. The break and open must work with any emblem image. - A "play/open" trigger we can fire on tap (a state-machine input in Rive; a documented frame range in Lottie). - Source files, plus a short demo proving runtime customization: the SAME animation shown with 3 different envelope colors and the seal image swapped. - Mobile: smooth 60fps on mid-range phones, small file size. STYLE We will share a reference video and our envelope color examples. For now the seal can be a random placeholder image; we supply the real emblems later. Focus first on the animation and on making the customization work reliably; final artwork polish comes after we approve the motion and the customization. MUST-HAVES - Proof of runtime-editable work: share links (or a short screen recording) of animations where you changed a color and/or swapped an image at runtime. - Comfortable delivering an animation that ends fully transparent for compositing. - Rive strongly preferred; Lottie only with clear runtime-customization proof. SCREENING QUESTIONS (add these to the job post) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 1. Have you built animations where colors and images are changed at RUNTIME (not baked in)? Share 2 to 3 examples or a short screen recording. 2. Will you deliver Rive or Lottie? Exactly how will you expose the envelope color, the wax color, and a swappable seal image so they work reliably at runtime? 3. How will you make the animation end fully transparent so our card can show underneath? 4. What is your quote and timeline for this scope?
