Robotics Automation Engineer with Computer Vision (Real-Time Picking System)

Job Description: We are looking for an experienced AI Computer Vision Engineer to help complete an AI vision system for the recycling industry that is approximately 75% complete. The project uses industrial cameras and machine learning to identify, classify, and track recyclable materials on high-speed conveyor belts. I currently have: Vision Basler a2A1920-160ucPRO Intel RealSense D435i (currently using RGB) Computer i7-14700F RTX 4060 (8 GB) 32 GB RAM 1 TB SSD Linux Software Python OpenCV YOLO CVAT PyTorch The remaining work includes improving detection accuracy, completing a user-friendly dashboard with real-time and historical reporting, generating material composition and recovery analytics, and optimizing overall system performance. The ideal candidate has experience with Python, OpenCV, YOLO, PyTorch or TensorFlow, CVAT, industrial cameras, and dashboard development. This is intended to be a long-term opportunity, as the successful candidate will also provide ongoing AI model training and refinement as new material classes and customer-specific requirements are introduced, with future expansion into robotic picking and automated sorting integration.
