Rust + Hyperledger Fabric Engineer

Principal Engineer and Technical Lead for Zero Trust Security Infrastructure We are an early stage, well funded security infrastructure company operating in stealth. A non disclosure agreement is required before deep technical details are shared. We are building a runtime trust layer for cross company data and AI agent collaboration. This provides cryptographic identity for systems and autonomous agents, real time policy enforcement, and immutable audit proof of every action. We need a principal-level engineer who can act as technical lead to help drive architecture decisions, write production code directly, and guide a small team toward a working, demo ready MVP. This role requires clear and professional communication with founders and prospective pilot customers. Excellent written and verbal communication is mandatory. Scope of Work Design and build a decentralized identity and verifiable credentials framework for devices, services, users, and AI agents Build the blockchain policy and audit layer on Hyperledger Fabric including chaincode, channels, and Fabric certificate authority to store policy rules, permissions, approvals, revocations, and immutable logs Build Rust based zero trust enforcement proxies for the client and server side to verify identity and enforce policy before actions execute Implement time based one time password authentication binding users to devices and claims with logging to the trust ledger without raw customer data exposure Deploy on Kubernetes and AWS with proper continuous integration, continuous deployment, and secure deployment practices Provide technical leadership to a small engineering team Join client calls and demos to represent technical decisions clearly to non technical stakeholders Must Have Skills: Production level Rust for networking, async systems, secure proxies, and gateways Go for backend services, APIs, and blockchain software development kit integration Hyperledger Fabric or similar permissioned ledger experience with chaincode development Zero trust architecture covering policy enforcement, identity based security, and runtime authorization Applied cryptography including public key infrastructure, mutual TLS, digital signatures, and key management Decentralized identity including decentralized identifiers and verifiable credentials Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, and continuous deployment pipelines Professional client facing experience with excellent written and verbal communication Nice to Have: Experience with policy engines like Open Policy Agent, Rego, or Cedar Prior founding engineer or principal engineer experience Knowledge of AI agent security or agent-to-agent communication protocols Familiarity with frameworks like NIST, SOC Two, HIPAA, or GDPR Experience with zero knowledge proofs, secure multiparty computation, or confidential computing
