SAP S/4HANA Finance Consultant (FI-CO) — Freelance Contract We are looking for an experienced SAP S/4HANA Finance Consultant to join our implementation project on a freelance contract basis. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in a full S/4HANA deployment, working across Financial Accounting and Controlling to deliver a high quality, robust solution for a growing organisation. The Role As our SAP FI-CO Consultant you will be embedded within the project team, working closely with finance stakeholders, technical developers, and the wider implementation team. You will be responsible for configuring, testing, and delivering SAP S/4HANA Finance solutions that meet the business requirements, while supporting end users through training and hypercare. Key Responsibilities Configure and deliver SAP S/4HANA FI-CO solutions across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Asset Accounting, Cost Centre Accounting, and Profit Centre Accounting Work with business stakeholders to gather and document finance requirements and translate them into SAP solutions Support data migration activities including mapping, validation, and reconciliation of financial data from legacy systems Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) Identify and resolve configuration issues and defects throughout the project lifecycle Support the go-live cutover process and provide hypercare support post go-live Produce functional design documents, configuration guides, and test scripts Train key users and end users on SAP Finance processes and transactions Work with technical teams to support ABAP developments, user exits, and enhancements where required Skills and Experience Required 3 to 5 years of hands on SAP Finance configuration experience with at least one full S/4HANA implementation Strong functional knowledge across FI modules — GL, AP, AR, and Asset Accounting Solid understanding of CO modules — Cost Centre Accounting, Profit Centre Accounting, and Internal Orders Experience of the Universal Journal and S/4HANA Finance architecture Proven experience supporting data migration from legacy systems using SAP Migration Cockpit or LSMW Strong understanding of core finance processes — Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, and Record to Report Experience writing functional specifications and test scripts Ability to engage confidently with finance stakeholders and translate business requirements into SAP solutions Strong analytical and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail Nice to Have Experience with SAP Central Invoice Management (CIM) Knowledge of SAP Ariba and procurement integration Familiarity with SAP Fiori apps for Finance Experience with parallel ledgers and multi currency configurations SAP certification in FI or CO What We Are Looking For You are a self-sufficient SAP Finance Consultant who can hit the ground running from day one.
