SEO & GEO Specialist (Freelance)

We are a boutique digital marketing consultancy working with ambitious brands across luxury travel, hospitality, wellness, lifestyle and eCommerce. We are looking for an experienced SEO & GEO Specialist to support a growing portfolio of client projects. This is a freelance, remote role with flexible hours and the opportunity to become a long term strategic partner. The Role We are looking for someone who understands that search is changing. Beyond traditional SEO, we want someone who can help clients become visible within AI powered search experiences including ChatGPT, Google AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity and other emerging platforms. You will be responsible for improving organic visibility, driving qualified traffic and ensuring our clients are discoverable across both traditional search engines and AI driven search environments. Responsibilities SEO Strategy & Execution • Conduct technical SEO audits and identify opportunities for improvement • Keyword research and search intent analysis • On page optimisation recommendations • Internal linking strategy • Content gap analysis • Competitor analysis • Local SEO where applicable • Performance monitoring and reporting GEO (Generative Engine Optimisation) • Develop strategies to increase brand visibility within AI search platforms • Identify opportunities for AI citation and brand mentions • Optimise content structures for AI discoverability • Advise on entity based SEO and topical authority • Support digital PR and authority building initiatives • Monitor emerging AI search trends and best practices Content Support • Develop content briefs for writers • Review content for SEO and GEO opportunities • Recommend topic clusters and content strategies • Identify opportunities for featured snippets, AI Overviews and answer based search results Essential Skills & Experience • Minimum 3 years SEO experience • Strong understanding of technical SEO principles • Experience using tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, Screaming Frog, Google Search Console and GA4 • Experience creating SEO strategies that drive measurable business results • Strong analytical and reporting skills • Excellent written English • Comfortable working across multiple client accounts • Ability to explain SEO concepts clearly to non technical stakeholders Highly Desirable • Experience with GEO, AI search optimisation or Answer Engine Optimisation (AEO) • Experience within luxury, travel, hospitality, wellness or eCommerce sectors • Digital PR and backlink acquisition experience • Familiarity with WordPress, Shopify and HubSpot • Understanding of schema markup and entity optimisation What Success Looks Like • Improved organic rankings and traffic • Increased visibility in AI search platforms • Stronger domain authority and brand mentions • Growth in qualified leads and enquiries • Clear, actionable reporting and recommendations Engagement • Freelance / contractor basis • Remote working • Flexible hours • Initially 5 to 15 hours per month with potential to grow To Apply Please provide: • A short introduction about yourself • Relevant SEO and GEO experience • Examples of client results achieved • Tools you use regularly • Your hourly or project rate • Availability per month
