SNF Referral Platform Integrations (Epic, CarePort, Aidin, AIDA, PointClickCare)

Healthcare Interoperability Engineer: Referral Platform Integrations (Epic, CarePort, Aidin, AIDA, PointClickCare) Project Overview: I'm building an AI-powered admissions platform for my skilled nursing facility (SNF)/ nursing home. This project is focused EXCLUSIVELY on the INTEGRATION LAYER, NOT the AI application itself. The objective is to design and implement a scalable referral ingestion service that connects to the major referral platforms used by hospitals and nursing homes, normalizes incoming referral data into a consistent format, and provides a foundation for future AI workflows. After this integration phase is complete, I plan to build the MVP and expect there will be additional contract work for future phases. Success Criteria: 1. For this project to be considered successful, I need a clear technical path for INTEGRATING with EACH OF THE FOLLOWING platforms: Epic CarePort (WellSky) Aidin AIDA Healthcare PointClickCare Provide a documented integration strategy that includes: Available APIs or integration methods Authentication requirements Vendor onboarding or partnership requirements Technical limitations Recommended implementation approach Estimated complexity and next steps 2. Working Integration Layer Build a reusable integration layer that can ingest referral data from supported vendors and normalize it into a common internal format. The architecture should be designed so additional referral sources can be added with minimal changes. 3. At Least Two End-to-End Working Integration Implement at least two complete integration (ideally, more) that demonstrates the full workflow: Authenticate with the vendor Retrieve or receive referral data Parse clinical and demographic information (I can do this, if this is out of scope) Normalize the referral into a standardized internal schema Store or expose the normalized data through an API 4. Standardized Referral Schema Create a unified referral model that abstracts away vendor-specific differences. 5. Production-Quality Code Deliver clean, documented, and reusable source code that includes: Authentication modules Vendor-specific integration clients Referral ingestion services Parsing and normalization logic Configuration management Error handling and logging The code should be organized so I can continue development after the engagement. 6. Documentation & Handoff Provide documentation covering: Local setup instructions Configuration Authentication Required environment variables Architecture overview How to add future referral vendors The final deliverable should enable me to clone the repository, run the integration service locally, and continue development without requiring additional knowledge transfer. Required Experience: I'm specifically looking for someone with healthcare interoperability experience.
